I seem to get them yearly (late fall/early winter) I use those salt water moisturizing thingies often and chug down at the very minimum 8 glasses of water. I take vitamins every day and occasionally drink tea (though I don't know why that's important). It seems no matter what I do they just don't stop. I typically crouch over on my knees and hang my head over a bowl or the toilet/shower stall while pressing right below the bridge of my nose. They usually last about 6-10mins. So, since I'm pretty well guarenteed to have one everyday until after the new year, I was wondering, what do you guys do to help them stop quicker? Any home-brewed remedies? Thanks.

Nosebleeds during the winter are pretty common since the moisture is taken from the air of your home by your heating system and cold outside air. This causes dry, cracking skin including inside your nasal cavity. If you own the house I would suggest adding a whole house humidifyer (one that attaches to the furnace). If you rent or have a boiler or electric heat, try adding a couple room humidifyers.

The air gets a lot drier, likes to mess with da nasal passages. Take a finger, put some vasoline on it, and gently dab it into your nostrils at night. Moisturize them suckers.

| Mod & Underwear Model | I started getting them semi-regularly after a busted nose......HUMIDITY HELPS! We didn't have a whole-house humidifyer at the time, but just running one of those little K-Mart units at night REALLY helped and was usually enough to get me through the dry winter days.

Seriously though, the moisture spray is okay during the day.. actually it's good for about 20 minutes after you use it... mose of it goes either into the back of your throat... or drips out your nose immediately after spraying it in. The humidifier in your room/home/office is the best bet.... other than not hitting yourself in the face with a phone book for ****s and giggles anymore! E

| The Brown Guy! | I get nosebleeds often, and what I do is just cram a wad of kleenex up there, and change it every couple minutes. Then I blow my nose to get the giant glob out, and clean up what is left.
