Ludlow Kissell and the Dago Bomb

Most of us here are familiar with the movie A Christmas Story. That movie was taken from a book called "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" written by Jean Shepherd. The movie was also narrated by him.

What many of us don't realize is that Jean Shepherd was a famous radio personality. I love the story about how he got a book that didn't exist on the bestsellers list (I Libertine), but I digress...

One of his most popular stories is a story also chronicled in the book "In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash" called Ludlow Kissell and the Dago Bomb. He would read the story every year on his radio show. If you liked A Christmas Story you'll like this too.

(since this is from his radio show, the good stuff starts at about 9 minutes in)

Happy 4th!

Jean Shepard was the most entertaining speaker I've ever heard.
(Gene Wood ranks up there too)
Remember the radio show he had?
How about the "Great American Dream Machine"?
He was brilliant.
