Any L5R players here(CCG not RPG)?

I used to play hardcore but got out of it a few years back. Decided I'd start up again - apparantly I'm just in time for the newest core edition, Celestial Edition. I'm digging the new card design too. If you aren't familiar, Legend of the Five Rings it's a CCG based in ancient Japan. It's very deep and complex for a card game too. Kinda like if you combined Risk, Chess, and Warhammer into a cardgame and set it in Japan.

The Moto will ride again for me.

I played it a few times years ago. Was a pretty cool system with a decent story.

tried for a bit. we got mad when start banning cards and quit. we went back to magic again since better game. we hated the way banned some cards.

IMO Magic is in no way a better game. Lacks the depth to keep me intersted. I'm not sure what you mean about banning cards though, I never had an issue with it. You mean when the new core editions come out and some of the previous editions cards aren't legal anymore?

some of cards from first 3 set where banded. people found loop hole. so made can not use or only have 1 magic was whole other story since made cards to powerful and only need one or so. some early cards where left out because if had right one tie in game would be in your favor and no way to stop it. magic had chance to stop them.

I really enjoyed it. My friends and I played it when it first came out. In fact, one dude from our group won the first big L5R tournament which meant that his clan, Crane, was to have the first Emerald Champion in the game's storyline. That was pretty cool. I haven't played it since the first edition, but what I did play I really enjoyed. I was a hardcore Dragon Clan player - Beware the Iajutsu Challenge'ing Dragon Clan Firebreathers. Roar! ;p
