You *could* move the extractor- it's not out of the question. If I were you I'd save my pennies and buy a Winchester 9422, which is a much higher quality levergun, and is a top-eject.

.22's are a fairly low powered affair, so changes like this are doable. Keep gas safety in mind as you decide what you're going to do- I had a 10-22 pop a case right next to me on the firing line and watched the shooter pick a nice piece of brass out of the underside of his left arm. Don't be that guy.

Head down to your local library and see what they have on gunsmithing. You might be surprised, as it used to be a much more common hobby after WW-I and WW-II. IIRC "Dunlap" was a great author, as well as JB Wood.

I would google cowboy comp shooting. There are guys all they do is use "old west" firearms doing comp shoot's. See if one of their tech's can help you out.

Thank you Sniperfan, I'll take every caution nessasary.

The 9422 dont really appeal to me. There kinda.....newish.

I never thought to look at the library for smithing books. I'll have to check that out. Thank you.
