If you want magazine capacity, go with the XDM 9mm. Can't beat 19+1. The customers who bought XDM's from us say they love them, the only one I saw come back just wanted a different front sight. Changing the grip to fit you is something easily done with the interchangable back straps. Glocks have been the more popular guns we sell, everyone who carries at work has carried a Glock at some point, the majority still do. And with only 35 parts, you can't really go wrong. Nearly impervious to the elements as well. 17+1 isn't a bad deal for full size. The Ruger SR9, the one we've sold to a regular customer we had he said it shot great. The trigger breaks a little weird at first, but it's not anything that you couldn't get used to. 17+1 in a slimmer frame then the Glock, the takedown is a little more complicated, but designed to be safer. It has one reversible backstrap so you can fit it more to your hand. Sig's are great guns, we've had trouble getting them in, but we have a few on our rental counter. Both the 9mm ones we have run great, with the stock sight setup you may find yourself shooting low until you get used to it, unless they've changed from the "straight eight" style sights. Haven't had any problems with them so far, none of the Sig's we've sold have come back either. If you get the opportunity, try the one's you're looking at buying. I've been looking at an SR9 myself, price point isn't bad, and it's a Ruger.

Bry, I see you do the same as I do. I carry my G19 spring/summer an switch to my G21SF in fall/winter. As for Sig, I've used those too. A great gun also! I guess I'm funny about side arms. If it's not broke don't fix it mentality, and function over form. We had a choice between the M9,G19, Sig 228. I preferred the Glock and Sig. After the whole ordeal having the M9 retrofitted with slide reinforcements. And having to keep them grit/dust free. I carried the Glock more then the Sig, and told them they can keep the M9 paper weight. I love both Glock and Sig. It just depends what your using the tool for in my personal opinion. It's like bum holes, everyone has one. For carry in a non LEO/Contractor/Military any well built sidearm is good. In a LEO/Military/Contractor position the climb or place deems do you need a weapon that can and will function no matter what. What I'm getting at is, don't rush into a high dollar deal, ending up having a high dollar paper weight. Rent, those that have been mentioned above and shoot them to see what feels good to you. And damn it Glock needs to start sending me free crap as many people I send their way. Oh, neither am I a employee nor a salesperson for them. It's personal experience from using the above tools.

paintballmarshaltn I agree the Glock is a great gun, I'd own one if it wasn't for the way they sit in my hand(I just can't shoot with them). The big thing for me is my gun has to shoot when I pull the trigger which is why I stay with Sig and Glock as the two best autos. There is a reason that Glocks and Sigs are the two most issued weapons in law enforcement and government in the US(it sure isn't the price).

Glocks, have conversion barrels to shoot different calibers in different Glocks. Another feature for them. I'm working on the owner for the company I work for is to get Glocks. I'll just have mine shipped to me.

Cheap is a relative term. The corbon barnes tipped 9MM ammo I shoot is not cheap to shoot at all in 9MM I still run at least two clips through every month to ensure function - on top of the 9MM I normally burn through for practice.

If I could afford to feed it I would get a FN Herstal Five-seveN. I can't find a supply of 5.7 x 28mm (in civillian form) around here though

| Active Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: VA | I'm married to my 1911 and I cant shoot a glock to save my life. But I did try out my friend's 19C recently. Very very nice. If i had to buy a glock that would be it. Havent tried an XD yet, might rent one this weekend to try it out. I know a few people that own them and they love theirs.

I have owned an xd sub compact, traded it for a glock 22. I like both of these but i no longer needed the sub comp. for carry. But the big thing that sold me on the Springfield was it comes with so much extra stuff, a holster, extra mag , mag holster , and cleaning rod. thats over 50.00 in extras. The gun was a good shooter, it never jamed, springfield has done there version of the glock tourcher test too. But in the end you just have to go with what you like. I traded the xd to a friend for the glock 22, it has the locking holster and 4 extra clips with it, and the kicker for me was the glowing dark sights on it there awsome. It also shoots very well and has never jamed on meno matter how cheap of ammo I feed it.
