Have any experience reloading those rounds(if you can)? Would it save me that much money to be an option? Edit: Removed my dumb question

Firearm Fun: REVIEW: SPRINGFIELD XDm .40 Springfield XDM Review (updated 11/12/08) - The (M)Factor Quote:
The XDm is pretty much just an improved version of the XD. You have increased capacity without much of a difference in the size of the grip, a match barrel, and 3 built in safeties. If they had it in .45 at the time I may have picked it up instead, but I feel the .40 is a good compromise between power and capacity. I prefer the .40 over the 9mm. Purely personal preference, I use Federal ammo for target shooting and Speer is loaded up for home defense. I got a great deal too, I bought it the week after Christmas for $580 which was a little more than $100 cheaper than the lowest internet price I could find and SA was offering a special promo for 2 additional mags and a mag holder for free if purchased before Jan 15th. So I spent less than $600 and also got more capacity out of the deal. Sure I don't need 65 shots at the ready, but it's nice to have the option. I also like to rotate my mags though so it allows me to keep 2 loaded at all times. Overall you can't go wrong, it boils down to what you're most comfortable with. I won't knock on either pistol. They are both exceptional pieces and they both shoot better than I do. *Also if you are looking into the Ruger, pay attention to what serial # you're trying to buy: Ruger - SR9® Product Safety Warning and Recall Notice | ||

I've heard from some reloaders that you can get a good two maybe three times out of the brass before it's unusable. For the price of the handgun that may be on the banned list and the cost of the ammo up there with .45 ACP, it would probably be better to go with 9 or 40. 9mm's availability has been sporadic, at least for us. We have 40 coming out our ears though.

I'm pretty dead set on 9mm though. I think I'll end up going with the glock though be honest. More accessories out for it, 9mm is a common round, it's high capacity, ability to take 33rd mags (overkill yeah, but still cool) Only thing I plan to do with it off the bat is probably put the 3 1/2 pound trigger kit in it and some Trijicon night sights if I can get a good deal on them. One of the main reasons I'm going with the Glock is the price though the second main reason being the extra safety on the SR9 and the stupid hump thing on the back of the XD (I can't think of the name but I found it very uncomfortable) Also, since the glock sits lower on the hand you'll get better accuracy and less recoil ![]() Glock 17 it is unless I can find a steady supply of cheap Five-Seven ammo Edit: Probably get some Krylon paint and color that frame too

I've got an XD40 (the V10 Model). It's a great shooter, but I don't like the barrel porting. My dad has an XD45 (chambered in 45GAP), and it's exactly what I'd want because of its lack of porting. I love how the XDs feel in my hands, and I like the magazine release much better than the Glocks I've felt (round, instead of rectangular with sharp corners). It's very easy to tear down and clean. Can't comment too much on Glocks, but the XDs are great guns!

I just got me an XDm-40 and I love it. I have shot both the glock and the XDm now and have to say I like the triger, grip size and feel, sights, and smoothness of the action alot over the glock. I've only put a few clips through it, but so far I like to shoot it more than my 1911A1. 16+1 rounds is nice, but I go through ammo quick doing that. I highly recomend the XD for sure.

Here's a link for a .22 conversion for a glock and the same website has barrel conversion .400 corbon and others. TopGlock.com: Glock .22 Conversion Kits
