Anyone know what happens if you buy a product at best-buy with a gift card then return it? Do you get cash? Do you get store credit? Another gift card?

I got a gift card from my brothers to go buy a Harmony remote. However I've found it online for more than $100 cheaper. Seems a waste. So I think I'm going to order it online instead. The only other thing I need is a HDMI Cable. Same deal. It's at least double at Best Buy. I could just pick up a DVD or two, but now I'm thinking, screw them.

Any thoughts?

We wish to know as well, got a gift card but nothing we want from Best Buy.. however if we can get it in cash....

I'm sure you can't get your cash back. Just went through this with Home Depot, and they gave us another gift card. I'm pretty sure it'll be the same at Best buy.

What is your return policy on purchases made using Gift Cards?

You may return items for which you used Gift Cards in accordance with our regular Return Policy. After making a purchase, we recommend that you keep your Gift Card until you receive the item and are sure it's what you want. The Gift Card amount applied to the item being returned will be credited back to your Gift Card.

You might try to find a friend that wants something at Best Buy and make the trade straight up. You could even go to a Best Buy and try to find somebody to sell it to that is going into the store.

You can always use it as a gift for somebody else.

I have seen people post them up on Craigslist.com in the Barter section or even selling them for $5 less than the value, too. The beauty of craigslist.com is that it's local to your area.
