Differences between the "Cats"

Is it just the bottom half and where the air can go in?

Stock class = 12grams and a stick feed. End discussion.

This cat page is pretty good. A little ways down are the models.

One thing I think is missing is that there was a revision to the alley cat. The initial release did not have a vert adapter while it was added later. There was also a change in the rear most pin hole in the receiver, it was made a through-hole instead of blind. The forward one has to be blind because the air passage runs on the left side.

Thank you that is very helpful.

It says the Puma and Alleycat/Thunercat hammers are not interchangeable but I can't seem to see a difference. Is one slightly larger?

We'll have to hear from capitalpaintball on that probably.

I suspect that the sear-catch on the hammer may have been moved when they rearranged the lower half, but that's just a guess.

With three alley-cats, I haven't convinced myself (yet) to pick up one of the few pumas that come around.

I grabbed an Alley-cat for a kid thats getting into paintball locally and a Puma that needs a new bolt came with it so I was wondering about compatability and other that the lowers and the area that the screws go into the body to hold the lowers and body together I didn't see anything different. Granted thats a lot more than the difference between the 09-10 *Insert gun name here*

The entire bolt? I wouldn't be too surprised, these things get some odd abuse.

Yeah, it's snapped at the narrow point where it tappers just before the "head" of the bolt.

Check the relative location of the cocking handle too. In some pictures, it looks like the hammer extends back a little more from the handle than the alley cats, but it might just be the pics.

Thanks man. The Alley cat is even one of the older ones without vert Air.

In that case, be prepared to run it only on a CO2 back bottle. I have not heard of a cat that would run on air without something on the vert adapter. I have polished, repaired, replaced and tweaked my alleycat (I) and can't get it over 240fps with HPA with any consistency. Even 12 grams won't work. With a CO2 bottle it is no problem, and the adjustments work just like they are supposed to.

I don't think there is enough volume under the valve and it still sucks gas through that skinny passage during a shot. Even a plugged gas thru grip works on my other two with HPA, but the older one wants the bottle.

At least it's tuned up really well now.

It's nice tight setup though. I took it out with a fifty round loader just to try it out, and they made me run to center field to the bomb bunker! Punks. I got me some, though.
