Puma and Alleycat on Liquid

I know that with liquid you get the little "smoke" out the barrel but would you say the gun is louder, quiter or about the same volume running liquid as opposed to gas CO2

I think the liquid makes the air more dense.
to me compressed air always seems loudest

Finally got the siphon tank all hooked up and had a chance to set down with the Puma to try tuning it, Chrono and paint will have to wait but I can tell you this much. I have the RVA all the way out, flush with the back plug, the recock all the way down, and the velocity only up about 1/4 turn. It's recocking even as fast as I can pull the trigger with no problems and it sounds strong, my initial guess would be that it's shooting at "usable velocities" if not a little high I'm going to try to get it chrono'd tomorrow and see how this little project is coming along.

Ahh....wintertime and a Puma's sippin' on a siphon tank. Good times.

Sorry I don't have much of a meaningful post, but I'm interested in how it turns out. The last time I ran a siphon tank was a loooooong time ago and from what little I remember the velocity and recock were screwed almost all the way in to get under 280.

This is really my first guy that I am dedicating to liquid. I'm trying very hard to make sure that I learn all I can about it before the guys that still know how to do it well all forget. It's a really neat way of powering guns.

I'm also going to be interested to see how it works in the summer. Unfortunately every time I screw the tank into the BB ASA it toasts an oring, there is a bur or something in there I think, maybe it's not as warn and opening the tank to soon, I might try putting an oring in there first. Either way I imagine keeping the liquid up the tube on a vert tank in the summer might be a little frustrating for woods or scenario. Probably fine on a small speedball field though. I could be wrong.

I have had the same tank on my gun since 96, I use a drop o-ring on both my front and rear asa on my Puma, seals every time, but the front tank o-ring gets destroyed every time. its something to do with the pin on the tank being a hair too long and releasing the air before the o-ring seats. drop o-rings ftw

Yup, I've had the same problem with some other old asa's.

Probably nothing you don't already know but -
Rumor has it that Palmers makes Shims to solve this problem, putting a tank oring in the asa before screwing in the tank is also supposed to solve this problem (If I'm reading right that is about what you said you are doing now)

Is it a pain at all to keep running these on liquid in the summer months? RI is about the same climate as VT I'd imagine, just a little more humid I would guess.
