Is ICD going out of business?

Hey everybody.

I've read some rather alarming things about ICD's future on PBN(I know, I know) and was wondering if anybody here could enlighten me as to whether ICD is no longer producing markers and parts and will be shut down soon or if they are still going strong.

Many have cited the ICDU site disappearing with no warning as the writing on the wall and others have saiD ICD's phones are answered by KEE now and no support for their products is being offered.

Any info?

I would have a hard time believing that KEE would allow them to just disappear. I'd assume that guns like the Promaster make up quite a bit of their lower-end sales.

Heck call ICD tomorrow and find out what's going on. I'm viewing their site fine, but will call tomorrow and find out anymore info.

I dunno, the Promaster line is going for under $150 right now over at Action Village. They're either dumping stock for something new like WGP is, or they're cutting their losses and running.

If this is true then it sure would be nice if someone could find out about the spare parts for the older stuff and buy it all out for us if they will stop supporting the oldies.

I called them. The reason the Promasters are selling so cheap is that the distributor of the ICD markers bought out all the stock from the Chinese suppliers and is dumping them due to them being discontinued. The guy sounded confident that they'd have parts and support for a couple years at least but I guess you never know these days.

what parts would you be looking for? Most stuff could be replaced after market. The only reason you'd need them is if you f'd the body up.

I'm probably OK for myself. I've got the tools to make anything needed or modify something to fit.

I suppose valve pins/cup seals is about the only bit that would be nasty to make but even that would be possible.

Sadly, it sounds like the rumours of ICD just fading away are likely true. No new products for some time now, blowing out the old stuff, lots of other cheaper than cheap markers in the market. That and the fact that they don't seem to have ever hit the big time would make me suspect that they are goners sooner rather than later.

I just recently sold my Promaster after using it for a day. I just plain on decided that I'm not an electro sort of guy and I'm sticking to my mechanicals from here on out. But I plan on keeping my Alleycat and THundercat. Those are sexy to the max!

Yeah... Stuff like main springs and ... stuff.

So where do I get my main spring!?!?!

As for the body... I was planning on making one outta carbon fiber anyway. I just need someone to mill it out so I can sleeve it (this time... Cocker or Spyder threads).

Man, I'm buyin' and lovin' every piece of electro-crap I can get my hands on! Every time I buy a gun and REALLY like it, the company goes out of business. Maybe I can drive the crap-merchants down the drain!

First CASL, now ICD. Good thing I have no love for my Spyder, I'll be able to get parts for that thing 'till doomsday.
