| It sounds like the previous owner may have "gutted" the internal regulator. This is a pretty common modification for Foxes. The internal reg has a slow recharge and doesn't handle CO2 well, so many people take the reg guts out and use an external regulator, like a Palmer stabilizer. If that's the case, just pick your favorite reg, set it for 400 psi, or so, and you're good to go. |

| Endearingly quirky | Now when I got my first Fox (the one MrJr now owns), the guts didn't look like they did on the online exploded-view. I sent the seller a nasty email telling him he sold me an incomplete gun. Turns out the webpage I consulted showed the internals of an early 'Classic' Fox, the ones that had the on-off inside the dump chamber. This one was the later style without the on-off. Needless to say, I sent another email to the seller apologizing profusely. So if the cylindrical part on the front of the valve body doesn't contain parts that are listed on the exploded view on that one website, nothing to worry about. Did you say it was leaking? I couldn't understand your post 100%.

| Endearingly quirky | If it's leaking down the barrel, it's the little o-ring underneath the brass tip of the powertube. They wear out about every 2k shots, unless you store it without the bolt in place. I don't remember the size of it, but just take the old one to the hardware store, unless it's been blown out, in which case you might find it stuck inside the bolt. There's also a tiny o-ring between the valve body and the 'rail' it attaches to. It's easy to lose when you remove the valve body. I've found that dabbing a little plumber's grease on it helps keep it in place. Then possibly one of the o-rings in the internal reg might be bad also.
