Well I purchased a new Promaster and now I hope some one can give me some tech help.
I go the gun set up and gassed up but when I dry fired with the eyes turned off it would only make a bang noise some of the time. The rest the bolt would move but it would make more of a clicking sound. Now I’m very new to electros I’m used to old school stuff like VM-68 and Mags, but this does not seem normal! Any one got any info to help a guy out? Also what does one use to lube the reg?

dow 33 is good for lubing the reg's, also read up on the tutorials on how to balance your reg's, (pbn has a good writeup in the stickied area) your lpr pressure might be to low

Do you hear any leaking or clicking from anywhere?

Do you have a gauge? What is the needle doing? What's your pressure at?

Are you using a fresh battery?

Does your tank have air?

is the bolt pin connecting the hammer and bolt correctly?

If you messed with the internal hoses, is the middle hose bend or pinched too sharply?

You might try pressing the red button on the back of the solenoid (with marker aired up and turned on), which will fire the gun and can clear out any debris (e.g., teflon tape) that may have found its way into the hoses/solenoid.

Have you zeroed the regulators? Turn down the HPR and LPR to zero and then gas up the marker. Adjust the HPR to ~225. Now you need to turn your LPR up until you hear a leak from the grip frame - when you do turn it it down 1/4 - 1/2 turn. That should get you running. Also it would be worth it to try a new battery, you can spend a lot of time chasing problems with a bum battery.

LPR: Low Pressure Regulator - on the front of the marker, and adjusts by the screw on it's front.

Yeah.. Try a new battery first. Then I would Zero the regulator if it's still not working. If that doesn't work relube it.

Might have the bolt pin in the wrong right place. Try dry-firing w/o the bolt in.

He says the bolt moves but it doesn't always fire. The more I think about it the more I think it has to be a bum battery giving the solenoid inconsistent voltage. The clicking noise would either be the trigger stop hitting the frame or the noid clicking. Another thing worth checking would be the trigger stops. You may have set them too short so the microswitch isn't pressed unless you give the trigger a good pull. So change the battery and zero the regs and you should be good to go.

You've got pretty much every solution in this thread so you'll have your Promaster up and running in no time. I've had mine since January and I still haven't put any paint through it just some Zballz. They're nice little markers, they're more popular now that ICD's gone out of business than they ever were during their time.

ICD tech manual step 1 for ALL issues is replace the battery.
