| FS-7 Freestyle questions. I recently acquired a n FS-7 Freestyle in great shape. I did have a difficult time balancing the regs due to leaks. I replaced 3 o-rings and I relubed the bejesus out of all of the o-rings in the spool valve. It didn't stop leaking till I slapped some dow 55 on there. I read somewhere that dow 55 is not recommended but it will it work fine?. I also read that hater sauce is recommended but isn't that just dow 55 mixed with some synthetic oil. I also heard that there is supposed to be a high efficiency bolt available because I met some guy that bragged that his freestyle was able to get 1600 shots from a 68/4500. I never actually witnessed this because every freestyle I have seen before mine broke down before the day was over.

| Active Member | I had a fs4 thing shot ropes. It only went down once and one oring had been pinched. There is a great resource here

| Rec Poster | Him, try ICDO. Also the bolt you speak of is called the HE bolt. Again, try ICDO BST. http://www.icd-owners.com/html/index...wtopic&t=12023 Might help. Last edited by jdubau55; 05-14-2008 at 09:43 PM. |

| The bolt is called the HE bolt or the HR-1 Bolt or the Hawk bolt either way. There was a guy selling one on either Icdo or on the nation, i can't remember which but it was a few weeks ago and i can't seem to search for it right now. The reason it was called the Hawk bolt because Hawk ICD and i believe Rocky were working on it. It was originally available for the Freestyle Pro ( Pro, Adventure Beach, etc.) and the FS7. In the FS8 they upgrade all the bolt so it wasn't a necessary upgrade any more, same with the clamping feedneck. As for the lube, the dow lube will work just fine, sometime it swell the oring that is why they didn't recommend that you use it. Secondly for all the lube, one of lube that you can use is the one that is included with the freestyle, but that's not available any more. There were a few debates years ago on which one to use, you can actually use most of them without major problem. Easiest way though is to pick up the super lube from ace hardware if you have one near your house, i am not sure if any other hardware store carry the super lube. Radioshack also purchase the superlube and rename it to some instore brand that they sell for about 5 bucks ( for a giant tube). More info on the lube here: The Ultimate Freestyle Lube Thread - PbNation It is actually a pretty valid thread as far as the lubing goes and should answer any question you may have. Now to the efficiency issues: Sure you can shoot 1600 rounds out of a 68/45, do you really need to shoot that much in a game? To be able to shoot that a lot of stuff need to be tunes, for one thing, you will need the HE bolt, and an aftermarket board. You will also need to get a good lpr ( the JDS STD one work pretty well), with a lot of tuning between the dwell, bolt, and hpr/lpr you can get 1600 rounds out of a 68/45. Very few attempt that, since it was just kinda unnecessary and a waste of time. Found the bolt: HR1 Bolt for sale!!!!! For Freestyle FS7, NDFS7 and FS Pro. - PbNation You may want to jump on that deal, and $100.00 was exactly how much hawk charge for it back when he still do the bolt upgrade / modification. post back if you have any question. |

| Thanks PK5. I was looking for the HR-1 bolt because I was told that the FS-7 only got 1000 shots or so from a 68/4500. I would like to get 1600 shots from a 68/4500 because I usually roll with a 45/4500 and most of the crappy fields around here can barely fill you to 3000. So in a scenario such as that, efficiency becomes crucial and will limit how much paint you can carry. I remember there was this guy who claimed he could get Viking-like efficiency from his Freestyle which never mattered cause the gun always seem to break down and leak all of the time.

| THE ANTI-SHILL | dow33 and 55 blows for Freestyles. The LPR is real sensitive and does not require a lot of movement. The issue is keeping them in balance. If you change one too much you HAVE to adjust the other. I get about 1500 shots on all of my freestyles. Best ICD sites: ICDO and pbgeek The HE does not do anything to the actual bolt. They clear out some air room behind the bolt in the rear housing. |
