Mamba Build (Update and pixs)

For those of you have been asking ...

SO i have been super busy with my real job and making tons of parts for Customers. I actually had a few minutes to myself and began finishing the prototype body for the mamba build.

I also have finished designing the stock class feed and the vertical feed adapters.

Tapping the barrel

Testing Fit

Cutting slots

Barrel again

Body

pump arm (left)

Cutting

Assmebled

A billet plate

Keep in mind that is is to be a functioning mock-up. Function is the priority and style, and finish will be handled after everything has been designed and perfected.

Changes

Quite a few changes in the design have been made. Mainly to save time and get the ball rolling.

This first version that i guess i am calling type B (im not that creative) i have switched to a slotted body instead of a under the body pump arm. That may change again but right now it is the simplist to produce.

I used a idea from another memeber and cut a power tube similar in volume to a lapco #6 however i threaded it for spyder cupseals, so far i am happy with this.

Some of my my hold ups have been manufacturing a cost effective hammer, i looked in to using lapco hammers and right now that looks like the ticket until we get the time to set up for production of them. I can buy these so much cheaper than i can build them and they are readily available.

Another hold up is the development of the vert asa. Very difficult to machine, and time consuming. Years ago everyone made blanks for these but today i havent been able to find a inexpensive suppier. I have looked at way to delete them all together but i want to use a vertical reg with hard line to the back of the marker so there is no way of getting around it. Most likely purchase these from palmers.

Lots of challenges but i am enjoying it. Keep the input and ideas coming.

No need for modesty. Take all the credit you got comin.

Hammers? Make it easy for you... Delrin cylinder, brass or steel insert maybe.

Do you think a detent of some kind might help. It hasn't been mentioned as far as I know, double feeds suck. Maybe a wire one?
Glad to hear you're still going through with it.

I would like to add a detent. However i may go with a timmy or spyder style rubber detent. Just kinda got to try a few different combos and see what works best.

Delrin sleeve with insert is a a very very good idea. Thats why i love forums.Got the sppl this weekend and then worj at my real job but i plan to work on this in all my spare time.

Thanks for all the help so far
