Spyder electronic question.

Hi Folks,

Quick question about the Spyder boards. What voltage of 9 volt do they need to run properly?

As of late, we can only get new 9 volts rechargable or non rechargable that have 8.4 volts at 100-160 milliamps output. Is that enough to run the solenoid to trip the sear and board?

If not, can we wire two 9 volts together to create 16.8 volt output. Or would that fry the capacitor and board?

The Java (Spyder) 9.6v NiMH rechargeables put out about 11-12v, which is what the e-spyders need to operate well. 16+ is probably gonna be too much.

From what i understand, the latest e-spyders can run fine on standard alkaline 9v's, although Kingman still recommends rechargeables... since that means you'd be buying their battery.

how long do their batteries last?

i can play a full weekend game on a full charge off their rechargable no problem.

regular 9v. depends on the board. some of mine last half a day. others work alright. kinda variable i guess.
