Hammer 7 Mag springs, really stiff?

Soo, i just got my Hammer 7, but i'm sorta afraid to put any nice 'fragile' shelled paint in there. The mag spring feels near impossible to push down to the bottom (nearly, not totally).

Anyone else notice this, and any ideas on if i could just use another springfeed's spring, or just trim a couple/few rings off the current one? (this is the stock 9-rnd) I will hopefully get a couple 10-rnd mags shortly. Maybe they are better.

I just leave the spring assist locked down all the time and that will help wear the spring in a bit faster.

we chose that spring because of the first strike rounds. that was the lightest spring we could use that would still feed first strike rounds.

if your not planning on using first strike then maybe cutting could help, not sure though.

You should be able get away with softer springs. Like whats found in top loading mags? Not sure how to source that tho
