What am I doing wrong?

I'm resurecting a chromed, taso frame equipped spyder I rescued from craigslist, right now I'm stumped. After polishing the hell out of the lower tube, in effect peeling all the chrome plating left in there and leaving a smoother surface, no matter what I do, it leaks out the LPC threads (This is a full size fatty striker body, the LPC threads into the front, a VA threads into the body itself.) I've put a TON of teflon tape onto the LPC, tried replacing and greasing the O-ring on it, no matter what I do it still leaks out of there. I think it's even the last leak I need to fix before the marker will finally cycle in the hammer slot again (I kinda destroyed the bolt removing it. I think I'm gonna find a cooper T bolt.)

Also, what size is the O-ring on the fatty hammer, I can't find ANY rebuild kits for fatty-striker equipped spyders anymore.

I had that same issue with one of my Spyders. The only way I solved it was TONS and TONS and TONS of Teflon tape. Eventually I just bit the bullet and bought a new vertical adapter.

the new vertical adaptor is not an option with this spyder. the LPC and vertical adaptor on this reciever predates the front-block setup.

Is the oring on you LPC in good shape? Could you replace the oring with something a little thicker for a tighter fit? Do you have a different LPC around to try out? Maybe it is the LPC itself.

32 degrees makes the vertical adapter for these things. Pirahna STBBs are also compatible in terms of o-rings and parts, only difference is the brass valve retaining screw, its american vs the spyder's metric. ive heard of LPCs being given a wide varience in terms of fitment on spyders. other than that, i believe just about any bolt will work on the spyder

gotta romance her a lil first, buy her dinner and so forth before trying to screw the vertical adapter in. spyders are picky like that

Can't help much on the LPC issue other than what the others have said. But the fatty hammers are the same size as PMI Piranha hammers and a soft Piranha hammer Oring is what you're looking for.
