| Spyder MR-1 I recently purchased a refurbed Sypder MR-1 from ActionVillage and I was wondering if anyone had any input of how to customize it for a dedicated woodsball player. Also if anyone has any input on upgrading a stock '07 spydr Pilot ACS. Thanks guys

| Here's acouple snaged off of google.... spydermr1a.jpg spydermr1.jpg Some peeps might poo-poo the Kingman MR-1...but I seen them close up and shooting at me....they did throw some paint out....maybe a board upgrade? I don't know what the long term durability is.... I would not put too much "stuff" on it. If you see a look you like....buy the pieces, make them or modify to fit....just don't weigh it down with too many do-dads....

| If you run a stock, and especially if it's one like the second picture, then run your red dot sight on a high rise grip mount or similar. You'll need the clearance since "we" wear masks that get in the way while "they"(soldiers) don't wear masks so they can tuck their faces down onto the stock and line their eyes up with the sight. I know it doesn't look very "mil sim'y" but running just a regular bottom line and mount a red dot to the top weaver rail is one great way to go. It fits in with our need to wear the protective mask. And woodsball isn't as much about looking like a regular soldier by dressing up your marker as it is about just staying hidden and hopefully making that first shot count. So dull black or dark dull green for the marker is good. And a red dot can help you put the first ball's likely landing spot where the guy you're shooting at is. I like my red dot sigths. And I like my black markers for staying hidden. I've played woodsball with an electric blue autococker and one of the other guys said I stood out like I was running around with a big neon sign in my hands If you do mod your MR like the first one I'd suggest not using the front grip and to mount the red dot back by the hopper. I'd also suggest one of the 1x30 tubular red dot sights. I've got a couple of the ones like in the picture and one of the 1x30's. the 1x30 is far more clear and nice to see through and is much better protected for when it gets hit. |

| You can throw all kinds of stuff on a weaver rail. Apex barrels are fun. As for the pilot, here's a few things I did to my Imagine: Clamping feedneck FASTA loader short barrel with a Dishka Flash Suppressor (canonizer). It scares the noobs. Again, also get an Apex so you can keep the Flatliners at bay. Scenario Dreams T Board (with ramping mode) Kingman ACT Delrin bolt New grips (Dye Stickies) After that, everything is cosmetic:

| Active Member | Just FYI, a 21 inch barrel will not let you shoot farther, give you more accuracy, or make you a sniper, they're just a waste of money. The paintball will drop inside the barrel, causing friction, and it wil slow down, so to compensate, you will have to turn up your velocity, lowering efficiency. Just stock to 12-16 inches and you'll be good

| I have found the MR-1 to be a really (surprisingly) durable marker. Easy to maintain, service and use. The local field I spend a lot of time at uses them as rentals so I see how they get abused and keep on shooting. If you like really different: MR-1 Vertical Air Custom J&J 9" JT suppressor shroud. You can do some interesting things with them. |
