Ken, if I may, acid-washed look with powder coat CAN be done (I wont show examples here, because I dont want to clutter your business thread), but yes it is a bit speckled with certain color combinations. It is also an overly involved process and involves the use of chemicals, you also cant see the finished product until it is baked so there is a lot of trial and error. Just wanted to let you know. The fades you do are just  That blue to purple is phenomenal.

Ken, do you have any pictures of what your Gold or Translucent Gold powder coating looks like? I have a gun in mind that I would like to do a "Golden Gun" theme, and I'm not sure how durable real gold plating is. EDIT: The shinier, the better
