Been a while since I popped into this thread, but I've been reading The Count of Monte Cristo, and it is REALLY good. My parents bought me a Kindle Fire for Christmas, so I raided Project Gutenberg. Plenty of classics to read in the new year.

Dumas is one of my favorite authors. I've been half-heartedly rereading 20 Years After while waiting for A Memory of Light to be released.

Mine came in yesterday, but I'm still on book 3. *shrug* I'll get there eventually.

Here's a few titles for those of you who'd like to learn more
about WW II.

For starters I highly recommend a book entitled "The Filthy
Thirteen," by Jake McNiece and Richard E. Killblane. This
guy saw and did it all and in fact just received the French
Legion of Honor for his service. On top of that he was a
real misfit, who like to disobay orders, get drunk and into
fights. Look for a film about him in the near future. BTW,
Eric Engler has some signed copies of his book that he's
offering for the same cost as you'd pay in the book stores.

Another worth while read is "Dog Company, The Boys of
Pointe du Hoc," by Patrick K. Oonnell. It's th story of the
US Rangers who scaled the heights of Pointe due Hoc on
D-Day, then fought their way across Europe. Well worth
your time.

Sincerely,

Finished "A Memory of Light" yesterday. Not what i was expecting but a good ending to the series.

I wrapped it up too. I liked it, a good ending to a series I've been reading for 23 years.
