I enjoyed The Saga of Seven Suns by Kevin J Anderson, proper space opera stuff.

Been listening to these on my phone. The reader is awesome, really embodies the character.

Black Company is also a good series, I will second that. But, only the first 6 novels. After that, I don't really like where the novel headed and never really had the motivation to finish it.

I hear this is a decent sci-fi book...

Yeah I was going to say those... The Original "Trilogy" and maybe the Heritage series. I lost interest after that...
just don't watch the TV series, it's a disappointment compared to the books.

Jack Chalker's The Rings of the Masters series gets my vote for unknown/under rated.

Nine Princes of Amber. Start with that and you will read everything he ever wrote. Excellent stories, great prose, a lifetime of re-reading. My keyboard wont print the last letter of the alphabet so it is Roger _ela_ny.

I love the Chronicles of Amber. Probably my favorite of all time. Soon after I read that the second time, I devoured everything by Roger Zelazny. He does an amazing job setting up and following through with a story, but his endings feel rushed.

Books

I have a few...

The Kingkiller Chronicles....Patrick Rothfuss..

1st one is The Name of the wind...

The Prince of Nothing...R Scott Bakker

1st Book.... the Darkness that comes before.

The Engineer Trilogy....KJ Parker

1st Book...Devices and Desires.

Ill second Scott Lynch (Lies of Locke Lamora) and anything by Joe Abercrombie is pretty good as well.

All of these much more "fantasy" than Sci Fi....

Good stuff.
