Paint?

What is CPX's field paint? (Assuming of course, this is a FPO event!) What size is it? Do they use the same field paint all the time, or will we be surprised when we buy it?

They bring in special paint for the event. Was Evil last year. Yes FPO, 90 dollars a case. Less if you pre-register.

It's been Evil for LL the last several years. The shell colors have changed each year.

It's $75/case if you get it during pre-register. $80 day of.

I just hope its a good quality. Had to use some DXS at a scenario at Sherwood last year and half of that crap broke in my pods throughout the day.

Last year there was issues on how the tractor trailer was loaded and the paint was too cold during transportation and the paint in the front of the trailer was supposed to be rotated to the back of the trailer which didn't happen causing issues. They ended up swapping the paint out for marbalizer which worked well.

Yeah... The event paint was astonishingly terrible last year. Hopefully that's not the case again this year.

Yeah hope not I missed the whole friday night pump game due to the fact the paint would break in my pump. I couldnt get a shot off without breaking. Bummer too because the friday pump game was the highlight of the game for me.

What saved me on Friday was the fact that you didn't have to have event paint for the Friday games. Any paint purchased from CPX was okay to use for the pump play.

Same here, I grabbed a bag of some green stuff from the pro shop for my pistol during the pump/pistol games and it was fine. The next morning with the evil was a different story...

That Evil paint was the worst paint I have shot. Thankfully, CPX exchanged it for Marballizer, no questions asked, and tried to make the problem right with everyone. I give them credit for doing that.

The paint problem at LL5 was the fault of Kee/RPS and is another reason I don't shoot it anymore unless I have to. The quality of Kee/RPS paint has been on a steady decline over the last few years...at least that has been my experience.
