I've got a Cyborg 06 that I got used, and I've got an issue with it. Using THIS site, I've cleaned and lubed the entire marker, regs included. I have downloaded the programming guide to the Predator board and returned everything to the default settings. From what I understand, according to paintball kingdom. I am not to set the velocity according to the manual (via the LPR), I am supposed to set the lpr somewhere between 70-80psi and then adjust the hpr until the desired velocity is achieved (180-210psi). Using the above link, I've got my lpr at 65psi. Issues: -Under high ROF, the bolt will stick in the forward position and you can hear air vent down the barrel. I have taken the o-rings out of the stock bolt, and this seems to fix the problem for the most part, but it will stick forward every 30 shots or so. The stock bolt that is in there is pretty scratched up, I have an oringless bolt ordered. Any suggestions in the meantime? That is, before I can try out the new bolt? |

I'm new to MacDev's stuff as I am acquiring a Clone this week, but I would suggest raising the lpr. You noted that it operates best between 70-80 psi but you have yours set at 65psi. 5 psi in a high end marker can mean A LOT. As far as bolt stick, I would replace all of the o rings and lube properly (wet, not white in appearance) until the new bolt arrives.

Definitely raise the LPR pressure to around 75psi (which is where I found my '06 to work the best.), also back the detents out a hair. You can screw them in too tight which will cause the bolt to stick as well.

are you sure that is the stock bolt? it should be solid black. if it's marbled gray, it's the snakeskin bolt by pbk. edit: nvm, i would listen to webfisher. o-rings do NOT have to be in all the way. | |

best way to set the detents is to run the bolt by and forth with your hand while tightening one side, when the bolt starts getting harder to move forward and back, loosen the detent a touch. do the same with the other side. as stated above the detents can bottom out on your bolt and that'll mess with everything. and DO NOT go below what is stated for the optimal pressures. they need to be at least 70 otherwise itll act odd, unless you have a lightened ram and bolt. go with stock settings, itll help alot

I will defiantly try backing the detents out a bit. As for the lpr, I've noticed a substantial increase in kick when I've got the lpr set much higher than I've got it now. I realize there is 'some' kick, but this seems excessive to me. Do cyborgs tend to have a little more kick than other markers? btw, it is the stock bolt. Thanks for the prompt responses! most are really smooth shooters, mine has no kick, yours may need a little break in yet. which valve is in it? 07 red valve is the first with a delrin cupseal (itll be black) the older red valves have brass cupseals with a gasket on it Last edited by sniper15; 02-02-2011 at 12:21 AM. |

hmm, idk, like i said, mine has no kick, almost as smooth as a spool... how high was your hpr? and one really stupid question but people have done it before, how far in did you press your bolt pin? i doubt it happens on the borgs, but a friend of mine used to push his bolt pin past the indentions and jam his rammer down. another thing i have noticed is that a newer 06 bolt fits tighter than an older one, DUH, right? after awhile they smooth out. i'll have access to mine with air this weekend. ive never known mine to stick forward. you may have gunk in your noid... |

I have my HPR at 200psi, had at least...I'll have to go get my tank filled again this weekend so I can play with it some more. I am certain that I've got my bolt pin in correctly, I don't really see how I could be putting it down too far. It's got to positions for the spring loaded ball bearing to lock in and you can hear it snap into place. I am hoping the newer bolt will be looser than mine is right now, for comparison the bolt on my friend's timmy is super loose. It literally falls back and fourth. Mine requires some major force, I'm thinking my o-rings must be really swelled up. Also, just to give you an idea. I took my digital scale and moved the bolt. It reads ~.60 lb before the bolt starts to move. |
