Saw that screen filter on the bottom of the HPR in the RX when I was relubing the RX.

I have read that some stock Droids have done really well without the bottomworks but some say it is necessary.

So what is it about the design of the droid/rx that a filter was released? No other company (PE, DYE, etc) have plenty of consumers making comments about spiking/creeping on their markers. Is it the quality of the seal on the piston, etc?

Just curious.

I have an RX and droid at the moment. I have no plans on upgrading the stock reg on the droid because it is very consistent. I also keep it as clean as possible.

The issue is when particles get into your compressed air tank. Air compressors pull in air and also some particles (dust, dirt, etc.) when they run, and that kind of stuff makes its way into the regulator and creates wear on the reg. seat. If you get good, quality air fills, you don't have much to worry about, though the filter is still nice to have. I never had problems with my Droid, but I got the filtered bottomworks anyway. All of the RXs, and every gun moving forward, come with this filter in place.

They aren't worth half of what they sold for....but shoot amazingly. I shot one sometime last year and it was pretty smooth. I'd take an ego 10 or Ego 11 over it any day of the week, but I'd probably take one over a 6/7/8/9 ego. The Macdev triggers flat out suck. That's my only gripe with the gun.

Yes, I didn't care for the stock droid trigger. Once the VP trigger was installed it was such a huge difference.

I honestly think I could make a better trigger with a rubber band and some toothpicks...but yeah I agree.

Triggers are real easy to adjust, all you need is an allen wrench and about two minutes.

Making adjustments were fine, it was more so the side to side play that I didn't care for. Just a minor gripe. Pressing the trigger quickly was fairly easy still though.
