06 Borg issues

SO I have a new-to-me 06 borg that has been giving me some issues and I'd like some advice about possible solutions.

My first problem is that I can't get the gun to turn off the eyes. It's supposed to be the stock board, but I can just hold down the trigger for minutes and it just won't shut them off (which is making teching the gun extra fun)

Secondly, I was having problems having air actually go through the gun, but replacing the Gladiator with another that I had took care of that, but now I can only get one shot every few seconds even though there is a ball in the breech

I have not checked the battery yet in all fairness as I had to head to work, but that's first on my list for tomorrow, but needless to say, I'm frustrated and dumbfounded.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound good. Honestly, I never even thought about turning off the eyes while I had it, and the most teching I did was lubrication and chrono. Worked fine for the 2 games I played with it though.

Sorry I can't be more help, hopefully a real expert can chime in.

If you're in FL, it's probably worth having MDUSA taking a look at it. Sounds like it needs a rebuild, regs set up and someone to look at the board settings.

Otherwise this is a good resource to start with-

This might sound like a dumb question, but do you have a fresh battery?

There could be any combinations of conditions which would create the problems you are describing. Toddles is right, if a fresh battery and a visit to borgfocus does not fix it, someone familiar with the cyborg should take a complete look at it.

a fresh battery did not solve the issue. I have a message into MacDev USA so I'm awaiting their response.

I have had issues also with the eyes not "seeing" the ball and firing properly. Once I turned the eyes off, all these problems went away. Later, back at the house, I found a piece of shell or dirt had gotten into the eye hole and slightly covered/moved the eye. I broke out both the eyes and cleaned them and zipped it back together and no more problems. This happened on an '05 model, but I think it might be the same issue.

The eyes see balls just fine, I just can't get them to turn off so I can try to fire it without having balls in the breech in order to tech the problems. it cycles once when there is a ball in the chamber now that I changed the regulator, but takes some time to fire a second shot even if there is a ball there.

In case it is not implied - could you post your response from MacDev? I am curious to see what the problem may be.

Go to MacDev.net and find the 06 Borg manual. Your board is set so that the eyes don't turn off when you hold down the trigger - there's a setting for that on the board. As for the gun only shooting occasionally... good luck with that. Check your wires or something. Maybe your dipswitches have fallen off.

^ That was me posting from FORT's house.

Another thing to check for your issue with the gun not shooting all the time: once you fix up your board and return it to the stock settings as per the manual on either MacDev.net or TheAngelGuy.com (go under Predator Manuals at the bottom and click Cyborg 06), turn off your eyes and see if the marker shoots normally both with and without paint. Turn the eyes back on and see if it still shoots. If so, then the problem was just some weird combination of settings being set weird. If not, I bet the problem is your bolt allowing rollback - check for this by placing a ball in the breech with the eyes on and tilting the gun so it's pointing up, and see if the eyes still register the ball. If they don't, tilt the gun downward and see if they recognize the ball then. If it only recognizes the ball being in the breech with the gun pointed down, you have rollback issues. If it's the stock bolt, it may be allowing too much ball rollback and the eyes aren't sensing the ball being in the breech. If it's an aftermarket bolt, that is almost definitely the issue. In either case, go to MacDev's online store or one of their dealers' stores (RanjerzProshop or PaintballKingdom) and buy an 07 Cyborg o-ringless bolt - yes, I know you have an 06 and it's an 07 bolt, but all the Cyborgs previous to the RX use the same rams, valves and bolts, as well as most other internal parts. The 07 bolt should most likely fix your rollback issue.
