If you really didnt want to spend too much i would suggest a Hammer 7...i bought one plus 5 magazines for my nephew and he loves it. The hammer 7 plus magazines, bottle and gear was less than 400.

I over my M17.
Stick with the 20 round mags. I had nothing but probkems with the 18's.
I run with an 8" DW. It's just as accurate as my 12, but the marker is much easier to run around with IMO.
I also got a one point sling, that I connect the the rear ring on the grip frame.
I forgot it today, and really missed it.
I also had someone 3d print a winder and speed fill adapter.

You really can't go wrong with the M17. I'm still amazed that they were able to pull it off for 300. I remember paying 400 for my k series mk1, and that was without a stock, or forgrip. I bought my M17 almost as soon as they came out, and she hasn't once let me down.

As a stock class player, I think you would REALLY enjoy a first strike set up. Grab a t9.1 with a preferably HH rifled (or lapco rifled) barrel. You'd be great with it being used to making the most out of your limited paint. And you can EASILY get some great used set ups with mags and everything well within your budget.
