M17 vs. Modding A5 for Dmags

I have been thinking about getting an M17 for running First Strike at the bigger Scenarios. Now I also have an A5 that is collecting dust begging to be played with. Should I go the brand new gun route or the modifying an old gun route? Any pros and cons on both setups would be awesome! That being the Milsig M17 CQC or modifying my A5 to take Dmags. I also would like to know what all I would need to do so.

I'd also like input on this and if its possible to easily modify the a-5 mag kit to accept scarab arms mags. Ive heard its been done but not sure how easy it is or how well it works.

Buying a new gun is what they would do on that other site. Here you dig out the old and mod it to suit your needs, then detail how you did it while dealing with questions like how much to do mine too!

Then when you're done you sell it and buy a new gun

I don't want to wait for the actual Tacamo kit so I think just buying the upgraded magwell for the Tacamo kit will work. I mean if I mess up it is an A5 it's not like they aren't plentiful.

I can't imagine it is all that hard to graft a magwell in place.

I don't think it would be very hard either considering the A5 has a bunch of meat to work with. I'm waiting for my next paycheck to buy the magwell and I'll start modding it.

If you're going to fab your own magwell look into getting DAM mags,if you call the tech line they'll probably sell you the magwell also,I've bought 2 myself awhile back. The mags are inexpensive but are top rate quality
I shopped around& compared different mags for projects, although they're big&not continuous 20 round feed the DAMs have the best features, durability and price by far

As a multiple A5 owner I'm interested in this. Read a few posts on a5og about modding the scarab mags but interested in how to convert one without a Tacamo body kit.
