Size question on Milsig magazines

Was hoping to teammates could have picked up an M17 and gear for me at Living Legends but it couldn't. So instead, planning and prep work will have to suffice.

For the square head magazines, what's a size comparison someone could offer? I'm going to guess they are slightly thicker than GI M16 mags, and maybe closer to AK-47 mags. Or would they be about as thick/dimensionally same as say a FAL/M14/AR-10 mag?

The reason is for pouch setups, and I have other gear that would allow me to forgo getting a pile of Faz Mags right now.

I have found that the 20rd. mags will fit just fine in any AK pouch. The straight 18rd. FS mags will often fit in open top M4 pouches, but your mileage may vary. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I have plenty of the Condor AK/M16 flapped mag pouches I use on what i call a combo vest( they hold 100 round pods great. I was actually looking at trying the Tuff products 8 mag pouch on something like a MCR4 sized vest or now looking into the Condor Barrage vest.

I like the "bullet out" style of pouches, and use two, yes 2, 8 round TPX mag pouches on a MCR6. Before retiring, I trained and used Safariland slimline open top pouches and that style got hardwired in.

The Milsig mags will fit in a general M4/Ar15 pouch, but it will be very very tight.
AK pouches should fit them without anything too crazy.

Go with AK style or fazmags. Some M-16 pouches may allow it to fit but getting it in and out will be a pain. I tried 5.11 tacttical ak pouches and it was still a tight fit and wound up just getting the fazmags.

I just made custom pouches out if duct tape. They work great and cost ~$2 each.
