IRC server NO LONGER shutting down

Just an FYI, the MCB server will be shutting down soon, unless I can figure something out.

The server I house the IRC on has been comprimised, and most likely do to my lack of using that server.

I will try to clean it first, but looks like I'll just have to shut it down for the time being.

Suggestions on an alternate IRC spot?

If its not hard to setup an IRC server, which I'm sure its not, I have a nix box that can be used. Its hosted over at 1and1 so it has great connection speeds. Let me know if you need to go with the temp host route and i'll see if i can get a server configured temporarily for you.

Well, it wasn't until I got control of the server again that I realized how much stuff I "sorta" use was actually ON that server. Wow. A lot.

It would take me a minute to move and shuffle things to my third server. Going to try and save it. Backing everything on that up now, just in case.

Well if it does go down I got a friend that has an irc server that he said he would let you use.

^^ As stated above, I have an IRC server, at irc.exilenet.info. If you want to use that for the time being, go ahead.

IRC is just the chat function of MCB? right?
The whole forum isn't (possibly?) going down... or is it?

could someone explain this?

Not that I'm thinking MCB is going down permanently or something, but will I have to go looking for it someday because of some move to a new server?
