MCBtv: FTA Episode 4 is up

Ok, while I really shouldn't call this an "episode", as it started out as one, but faded into me just messing around with my helmet camera and a little bit of my bunker cam.

The problem actually was.... I had TOO MUCH film. Wow. I'll have to get used to that, and really trying to pick and choose.

I had well over an hour of excellent helmet cam footage... about 27 minutes of my bunker cam (of which I only used about 6 seconds worth), and footage that Alicia took at the game (about 15 minutes) from the Regular camera....

And then there was the stuff I did as an intro, etc, etc.

And I need to keep it under 10 minutes? Dang... Just barely this time... A little over 9 minutes all and all.

Skip over the first 3 minutes if you don't want to hear me blab.

I also posted a little quick clip from Splattttt's game where I had my Oregon Scientific camera on, a little crooked mind you, but I was wearing it.
That has since become my bunker cam.

After this last game on December 2nd, I'll get back to the regular tips, reviews, and tactics... Just having fun with the new cameras and learning how to do it all still.

And note to self... I will never do another intro in my kitchen. The echo stinks... But, I was far too lazy to retape it... So ya'll will have to live with it for this round, but I'll never do it again... So sleep easy on that.

I like the shot with the truck, and it was funny when you tried shooting with the 12 gram in the dirt

Not sure I ever saw you use a barrel plug in that clip, but it was more entertaining then you think.

I tried making a paintball movie for film class... oh... 17 years ago, ironically with the same technology of guns, and I ended up with about 20 hours of footage, with about 30 seconds being useful.

I have the tape somewhere, but no ability to cleanly get onto the computer.

Nick you don't need a barrel plug if the gun has no gas.

The gas source is still attached to the gun. Sure, it might be empty. Or you might ONLY THINK it might be empty. Thats a risky assumption to make.

I've seen HUNDREDS of accidents where one guy said "I though it was out of air", or "I thought I was out of paint" or "I thought the safety was on".. etc

And even if the gas source is removed, many modern paintguns have regs that use floating valves. They act as check-valves when the air source is removed, meaning the gun can still fire.

ANd it wasnt a big deal. CLEARLY Carter is not a careless person, and knew beyond any resonable doubt that he was out of air, and totally safe. But as a long time ref, I'm more worried that the younger viewers might not see it that way.

Most of us rarely use barrel plugs/covers at B's games,it's just something that we've come to understand doing as we play a very old school style of play and I don't just mean Stock Class Pump I mean overall attitude and such.

It's true that not everyone uses plugs, but most do at the games... But all the video was taken on the field, and not off... The plugs and bags are back at our stations...

Some modern camcorders can be used as a 'bridge' between different media, what you do is connect your vcr to the camcorder then the camcorder to the computer to upload it. A very easy to use innovation, I know the newer sony brands are able to do that, my sony hc42 does and thats over a year old now.
