MCB Network Updates

PbHound.com is being reworked... once again. I'm in the process of cruising through all the sites I can find, and this time, we're caching the sites. So if they ever go down, you can read them still.

I DO plan, my super secret plan, well, sort of now... is to crawl off of pbnation. This way if there actually is any good information to be had, well, we can actually find it.

Especially since they even shut their own search down on high traffic periods.

Vintagerex.com has moved servers, and is currently found on the MCB server. Now I can make some better code to update it, and get that rolling again.

On the same note:

http://bb.mcarterbrown.com

The Blue Book can now become a reality with vintagerex.com being on the same server and sharing databases.

So this is all around good news.

Spectacular. Now we're just one step away from total cyber-domination

I've never seen pbnation search work. Ever.

It is possible that it doesnt work, and the traffic is an excuse.

It works for me, but then again all I use PBeffingN is for their B/S/T sections. Pretty much the rest of it is pointless... though kind of cool that Glenn and Craig Palmer can be found in the Palmers section.

You and me both!
I'm on at odd hours too, so I can't figure out why or how there are so many people on... I tried it one day at 4 AM. Maybe there are just a lot of Alaskans/West Coasters on around midnight or 1 AM. I've tried it during the day as well just for kicks. I can't even remember what I was searching for.

Anyway,
Thanks for the update Carter! It's always interesting to see what comes out.

Will usually work for me before noon, but never from noon to morning.

So, you end up with lots of users asking many simple questions, with all the arrogant PBN'ers screaming for them to use the search engine. They probobly don't even know it doesnt work most of the time.

The admins will say its down to save bandwidth and overhead, which in turn creates so many pointless threads, and replys.

It works. But rarely, because although their memberships cost more, they have a bunch of ads, and new members, they still haven't increased the roof on the number of registered users. You can't even find your own posts, to view all posts uses the search feature, I can't find my feedback thread on there for you guys, and I have to wait until I go on during a good time (I don't go on often.)
