Yes, I too have been having problems when I use the reg in an aluminum regular ASA. Using an ASA with an On/Off seems to fix the problem though for me. I prefer a stainless ASA piece like on a Crossfire reg myself.

Looking for all Canadians on MCB, building a list by province. PM me to be added to the list.

I think crossfire regs run a nickel plated brass thread bonnet <i think thats what they call it>

So do PMI and Nitroduck

The lightweight revolution is putting all towards aluminum threads

Okay, if this will help Drum feel better ( ) I'll post a review....

I used both high and low pressure versions of the ambush regulator. The high pressure version was used in conjunction with a 92/4500 Luxfer cylinder and the low pressure reg was on a 45/4500.

I used the high pressure version on the following markers, Angel 05 Speed, X-Valved E-mag, Viking, Angel LED, Angel LCD, and a blazer. I experienced consistent flow rates and no shoot down when using psp mode on the 05 speed or viking. I had no issues with any of the other markers as well. The low pressure version was used on a DM6 with no issues what so ever.

Neither reg had an issue with creep or any leaks. Reg fed a very continuous 850 psi (high pressure) and around 400 (low). I did not see a huge drop off with the high pressure until the tank got to around 1000 psi. The low pressure did not start dropping until the tank was at around 500-600 psi.

The quality of build was excellent and all parts were easy to get to in the case of a problem.

Installation was a snap and as mentioned, the reg features safety vents.

Over all, I highly recommend this regulator.

Happy now, Drum? (Dang hippie lawyers )

Sir Shiba and I have had a very civil and productive exchange of PM's and a meeting of the minds.

Consequently, I have taken the liberty of neatening myself up and out of this thread. Thanks for the additional information and I will be doing some more testing of mine this cold *** game weekend.

Cheers,
D.
