| Guerrilla Air "Ambush" Reg. Just had my ACI 45 tank re-hydro'd. Since the original regulator (ACI: Bulldog reg.) was off the tank, I decided to look into a more modern/current style reg. I picked up an "Ambush" screw-in regulator made by Guerrilla Air. It's their lower end regulator and retails on their site for $64.95, but I found it on an e-tail site for $15 less. Link: http://guerrillaair.com/store/produc...products_id=31 I'll be using the tank on my CCM pump gun, so having a ultra high outflow rate, isn't the first thing that was on my list of priorities. But what I liked is that it's 6 ounces lighter then the Bulldog regulator when measured on an electronic postal scale (10.5oz vs. 4.5oz Some may say "$50 for 1/3lbs weight savings! BLAGH...!!", but I'm a gadget freak, so it was a worthwhile upgrade in equipment for me. Thanks to Mike & Jerry at I&I Sports in Carson, CA for helping me get me bottle tested out. ![]() BTW: The combo of ACI tank and Ambush reg. is 3/4" shorter then the JAVA Paintball 4500 psi tank/reg. I'm also using. Since a decrease in gun size is a good thing IMO, I'm happy about that too. Last edited by Drum; 02-10-2007 at 10:23 PM. |

| MCB Member | Been using the Ambush on my 13/3000 for a while. Acually really nice little regs. Cheap. They are easy to work on, and insanely lightweight/short. The only issue I can see with them is the aluminum ASA threads (at least on mine) might strip out if your not careful. Cheap fix though.

| Well I have used them with great success. Very consistant and high flowing enough to feed mt X valved mag, wifey's e2, and my diadem with no percieved drop off. Now I have a myth reg on the way for wifey's new nitro duck tuff skinn 45/4500 and invert mini. That thing is tiny. I can't wait to test it out.

| Guerrilla Air is the new Air America (new company formed by the same guys if I'm not mistaken...). I LOVE my Ambush regulator. I've used it with great success on a 68/4500 driving my Hurricane and also a 99 STO Autococker. It's got nice mini-gauges that are flushed down tight to the reg surface, high flow rate, and those cool vent-vanes, should the tank acccidentally come unscrewed... Also, it is removed fairly easily for 'airline travel' so that it becomes an open container. Really great reg for one heck of a price, I got mine on eBay brand new for $54 with shipping included. If you need a great reg, look no further!

FYI, Centerflags regs are very similar. The preset reg with changeable springs of Guerillas came out AFTER the Centerflag 4c (is that the right name?...lol)did, and it has similar features. Its very possible they are made by the same manufacturer. But they are both good regs. Shane-O

| MCB Member | I've been using an Ambush for quite some time now. I must say it is an impressive little reg at a reasonable price. If you wouldn't mind, PM me where you got it for $50 because I'm in the market for another. Most places are out of stock and the cheapest I've been able to find is $60 shipped on ebay. The aluminum threads are a concern, but I take great care when screwing the tank into the ASA and keep a protector on them at all time. I haven't noticed any shootdown. It keeps up nicely on my Predator Hypermag and Viking on PSP ramp.

I have a problem with aluminum ASA threads myself. I dont like the way they wear versus nickel plated brass threads or even raw brass threads. Aluminum on aluminum just feels bad, id rather have a brass ASA portion
