Thanks for the confirmation. I knew Mar didn't have s/n 013 but the number was within a few of that and easily confused with it if the stamped number wasn't examined closely.

We have one but it hasn't been updated in a while and could use a sticky:
Redux Owners List

It is tricky at first, but only at first, everytime I have given friends the chance to use the dux it comes back soaked inside and out and they are never smiling, though I am.
I can attest to this as I was the first to borrow it and the first to pinch a ball, but I did get 2 eliminations even with the gun all messy. These things sight like a champ(although weasel does have tritium sights on it I believe) and it is the only sc pistol that I sight better holding it in a pistol stance then with a hand on the pump.

That was a very well written review cJ, you have a very talented hand. I spent the past couple of weeks in Jersey and was fortunate enough to have Shadawg invite me to a game. It was typical snow on the ground Jersey cold kinda day. The ball of choice was Polar Ice which I assumed was around 67.6. Due to the fact I was traveling light I didn't bring my ball sizer or spare freak inserts. I was however lucky enough that the good people in Jersey are very friendly and giving thus I borrowed a McNeer 67.5 and which allowed me to chrono around 297.

Its been a long time since my old Colorado winter play days and I forgot one caveate associated with winter balling....shoot over bored barrels! As a result I had ball breaks in every game throughout the day and it proved to be a bit frustrating. The fact I also traveled sans squeegee or swab didn't help matters either. I couldn't hit the fat lady singing my name if she was standing two feet away, the breaks were that bad. Throw in the fact every one in Jersey plays some fantastic ball, well you get the picture.

Throughout the day I let people take some shots with my Redux and for the most part all seemed to like it. From what I could tell none experienced binding or load issues. That being said I would have to say the "Achilles Heel" of the Redux isn't in it's design but rather in the users inability adapt to it. Im not saying its a perfect marker because it does bind from time to time. This however can be alliveated by taking the time to pick you paint as carefully as you pick your shots.

I have always advocated users buy every brand of paint they can get their hands on even the cheap stuff. Then grab a cocktale and a stogie head out back and have a tuning session. If your a stock class player you already know it is impairative to acquire the perfect bore to ball combination. Once you figure that out let not heaven or hell come between you and your paint of choice. Poor paint combinations equal bad feeding and breaks thus causing a bad user experience.

When I rewind back to Jersey I have to ask myself a few questions: Did the tighter bore allow me 20+ shots at under 30 degrees, yes. Was the paint bad, no. Are Ty's inserts remarkable, yes. Did I have binding problems with small bored paint, no! Did I adhere to lessons learned from the past, no. Did I fail to adapt to my Redux and the situation, YES!

Can the feed system on the Redux be improved, who knows. IMO the binding is inherent to the "slide" design. Original DD68's suffer from the same thing from time to time as do Cater Ducks. This leads me to believe the only true solution is the bore drop conversion spacer we discussed last year. Shrinking the breech will lift the ball thus decreasing the chances a second ball will drop into the slide. Honestly I rarely suffer from binding a lot less after taking some of the above precautions as depicted in this video.

Once again fantastic write up!

We are talking the weight of a paintball; maybe the “drop conversion spacer” could be music wire like the AutoMag barrel ball detents? If the space isn’t too much of a distance, maybe a modified form of the ASP mod and a tiny o-ring, something the bolt can ride over the top of without a lot of internal modifications and chances of Murphy rearing his head.

DSA, I hope to put together a traveling gun system too. Something I could mail to myself if I had to. I could pack the swabs and stuff. I think I might repost an old packing list and some pictures I had and see if we can’t generate some interest in another thread. Do you fly or do you drive?

OK - we're getting into anti-pinch discussions so I've moved my reply over there!
