Proto Axis Pro Video Review!

Since I have all this gear, I feel obligated to make a decent review to go along side the other 15 year old reviewers with shaky cameras and extremely dark rooms. Let me know what you think!

Nice review, it says leaps and bounds about yourself when you recognize that other reviewers your age do a poor job and that you want to improve on that. Obviously it looks like you have taken a page out of Mike's style of review, but who cares you are doing your own thing just like he is.

I've noticed the similarities between Dye's and Proto's soft goods, are they manufactured by the same company? I have been wanting to try out the Axis Pro goggles though.

Yes Proto is the sub division of Dye.

If you consider Dye as high end, Proto would be mid range. Proto is usually a lot cheaper too.

Just like Chrysler and Plymouth. Very similar stuff, just different price tags.

Kinda like Empire and Invert.

The Proto Matrix and Dye Matrix are ideally the same gun inside. I actually fancy some proto stuff over Dye.

I like the PM8 a lot more than the DM9/10 and I like the Pro Axis a lot more than the i3's. The build quality is just as nice, I've owned both.

One thing that was not mentioned in the review is that the mask can squeezes against the sides of your eyes a bit. This might just be with me but I thought it was worth mentioning. Another thing is that the mask is only available with a CLEAR lense from the factory. If you like smoke or other types of lenses, the they must be purchased AFTERMARKET.

Great review!!!

I consider this mask the quick change lens version of the i3 pro.

I had to trim up foam around the nose so it wouldn't push my nostrils shut. Now I can breath great through my nose with them.

Most masks you have to purchase smoke lenses separate. I just wish they had a HD lens for the proto line. Those lenses are amazing.

It's funny, I was actually at the paintball store today to buy a mask and some 12ies and I had the pro axis in mind but when I tried it on, Just didnt feel right. Great mask just not for me, I ended up going with the sly profit goggle.

Was considering that mask but without trying it on I went with the Proto. Coming from a Dye background it felt safe.

Great points guys! I'm going to edit the lens prices into the annotation.

And yeah, some of my friends noted how much foam it had as well. It contoured to my face rather well so I hadn't had issues with it so it's something I didn't even think to mention.

As far as it being the quick-change version of i3 pro's, it's actually much smaller. It's larger than i4's but still smaller than i3's.
