Exactly how is that different then any other custom anno job? The nice splash annod gun was once annod grey. Anyways I wish they would hurry up at the annodizer.

Well... Some technical resurgence in this thread:

Cast delrin will behave differently under high stress as it is less rigid than a machined part of the same material. However, cast parts and machined parts are interchangeable in most applications and the choice depends largely on the level and type of stresses in the system. A big driver in all applications is cost. Cast is considerably less costly to produce in quantity.

The cast parts will allow you to bend the eye covers, but cause the sled body to swell if you over-tighten the pump arms. Ultimately, however, you will not likely see a difference and the parts will be nearly impossible to destroy by cycling.

I look forward to re-springing this marker as soon as I get one, and ditching that jewel on the frame for a personalized touch.

I'm looking at this marker as a great mix of engineering and experience. The parts used are common and proven. The expensive portions (barrel, regulator) are quality where it matters most, and cost where it matters most.

I applaud Simon, as a fellow engineer, for designing a marketable product with a wide demographic, and satisfaction at all levels.

Yes, the splash one was re-anodizd too. I hope yours comes out just the way you want it.

@kill-n-spree I ordered mine on Jan 21 from ansgear. I live close to the store so I opted for the in-store pickup and I understand that the stormtrooper color scheme is one of the more popular colors. I don't know how many people pre-ordered that color scheme but it seems like it was popular enough that it was one of the first batches. You may want to give them a call and ask they have a pretty good ideas of when the parts are expected back.

Man that sucks. I ordered mine in the end of December. I guess the yellow is not too popular. Thanks for the input. I guess I will have to be patient. Every time I call them they have know idea when it will ship.
