That was my impression.
The hacker plot existed just so we could have scenes where the "government" could explain the situation to them (and the audience).

Just like how every scifi show needs to have a "dumb" sidekick so the hero can explain things out loud. Like every Doctor Who episode.

This is all just nitpicking though. There was plenty enough story so the movie was more then just toys fighting each other.

I was ok with the movie, I'm a bit of a details freak and honestly, there was so much happening on the screen it was hard to take it all in.

I'll probably have to watch it again to see the things I missed.

I laughed when OP and his group were trying to hide in the kids backyard as the parents were looking out the windows.

I didnt like it very much.

I had a bad feeling that they would make the movie from a humans perspective. I dont really care much about seeing how earthlings react to the awesome glory of optimus prime.

I wish the movie didnt have so many cheap plugs. Not even an extra terrestrial would select a solstice over the other cars that guy had to choose from. Flames on optimus's truck?

Stuff like that was just silly.

My girlfriend liked it.

People that dont love transformers already seem to enjoy it.

By the end of the movie i didnt even know all of the robots names, and thats not right.

The robots were practically the main comedy relief =/

Maybe when they finish up the second movie, they'll just see fit to push the human element aside?

It probably wouldn't have been so bad if there wasn't so much product placement.

Ad campaigners are trying to do everything possible to get their jobs done. Heck I had to endure about 10 minutes of commericals just to get through to the previews.

I watched the movie today and I have to say, I was expecting, I don't know, MORE plot and less special effects. There was way too much of the Autobots transforming back and fourth and it was taking way too long to do so. And just how many buildings are you going to blow up and kill people before the people down there are just going to realize that the government IS hiding something (contrary to what the parents were saying @ the end).

The hacker plot is a bit weak. What happened to them anyways? You give them a bit part and then you make them disappear? Government Cover-up if you ask me.

Anyone else find it was disturbing seeing those two make-out on top of Bumble Bee? Do they LIKE it when the Autobots were watching? And was that BEE OITCH air freshener really necessary? I did smile a bit when Sam removed the smudge on the steering wheel of his Camaro and the Autobot Symbol was shown. It brought back memories of the older Transformers that I enjoyed watching.

And was it really necessary for the "more then meets the eye" bit? 3 Times? If you are not even going to use the original theme song, then drop it.

But if you are going to watch this movie, then Please, do so at the theater. You are going to need to see this on the big screen to watch all the special effects. You will miss out watching this even @ wide screen TV's...

This will probably be a movie that I will buy on DVD/Blu-Ray/HD when it comes out.

When the helicopter transformed in the beginning, then proceded to kick ***, that was -awesome-. Best scene in the movie.

But after that, it quickly got tedious, and lost much of its impact. Plus, if a transformer can also "morph" into different objects (like old camaro into new camaro), why bother transform at all. Just morph instead?

Still, it was far better then I expected. Comic book adaptations have been hit or miss. Usually miss.

I though it was ok at best.

The CGI was utterly amazing, but other than that it left me disappointed. The plot sucked. You barely got to actually interact with the transformers. It was all about the boy. That hot chick sucks at acting and her thumbs made me puke. They could have done way better.

If you plan on seeing it though, I do recomend seeing it on the big screen as it's quite beautifully pictured.

OMG

That is EXACTLY how I feel about it. Especially the end when they were on Bumblebee's hood. You are the man for this link. :bows:

I liked it the 1st time, I liked it the 2nd time, and I'll buy the DVD when it comes out. As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best movies of the year......
