I love this pump pistol.

I wish that a company like Avratech would make a magfed pistol. I can totally imagine this exact pistol minus the top tube, slightly larger handle, and then only ball mags. I'm sure that it would be closer to the $300 mark than $200 mark that the Tiberius and TPX cost, but would it be worth it?

Yes Yes Yes

*laughs* I see you all calling me out.

No, I'm a one gun guy. I am not closed to the idea of an R7 being my one gun at some point though.

The twist knob has a smaller diameter relative to Carter knobs, but the 4 lead threads on the R7 knob equals a REALLY quick unscrewing time. I think the the shaft of the twist knob is the same diameter as a 12gram. The 4-lead threads is 1 more lead thread than Phantom bucket changers have, and I bet a lot of you know how fast those are to unscrew. Also if you've owned a Redux/Carter/CIP frame, you know that sometimes they require a bit of extra torque to pierce and seal the 12-gram in place. Especially the Redux knob..I think knurling is better than the milled slots on knobs for providing extra grip. The R7 knob, despite being smaller and having shallow milled slots instead of knurling, doesn't need that extra force and it is extremely easy to pierce 12 grams! It really surprised me the first time I gassed up the gun...
A comment on the Redux twist knob versus Phantom quick-start bucket:

I too have noticed the ease of piercing a 12-gram with the more aggressive threads. I suspect the reason is there's more vertical movement with the quick-start threads.

With the Redux and other "conventional" threading, there's more twisting motion which just grinds the 12-gram into the pierce pin.

Great writeup. And to think, I almost got in on the original preorder a few times. Oh well, it's great to see amazing products coming out that are filling an obvious void left by most of the big manufacturers. Both in creativity and quality.

I can't wait to twist that knob.
I'm probably just going to repeat the motion over and over, just because it sounds like it's gonna be so much fun to do.

I hope I haven't gotten everyone's expectations too high! Maybe I should just change my review and say this pistol sucks so you'll be pleasantly surprised

Chef, do you want to sum up your thoughts into a pros, cons, conclusion format? I would love to add it to my guide...Giving you credit of course.

Great review, looks like an amazing tool.

I love how "Made In Canada" is barely smaller than the company name. good job!

I tried to shrink it a bit so that I wouldn't exceed the ten line limit. I hope it's legal.
