Y0da900/Deathwish_DW's Mech Ion Mod Drop-In Kit Review and word of warning on DIY kit

I bought a Mech kit from these guy's on black Friday with bolt. Great deal, and it came in the mail in short order. I installed the kit and had the gun working in about 15 min. it could have been faster but I had never opened an Ion before that day. Sad I know, I happily missed out on the Ion hay day playing outlaw with friends. The kit was easy to install, with excellent directions in the sale thread.

Fast forward about 3 week's. A friend of mine works for Fastenal, he looked at the kit and said he could get those part's. So he started getting them together, he used my kit to make the aluminum part the valve sit's in. He finally get's the kit together and neither of us can get the leaks stop'ed. I make a deal with him and take the gun thinking I can sell it.Well here is the warning part, I will bold it in for those of you skimming ... DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN KIT! THE FASTENAL PART'S CAN'T HANDEL THAT KIND OF PRESURE ! They tend to blow apart rather violently, fortunately Deathwish_DW contacted me before I had a chance to find this out the hard way. The guy who made the kit also ordered a hose kit off of Ebay, that also wont work well, the Deathwish / Yoda kit uses a thicker I.D. hose so they can stand the pressure. And in the end he had like 45$ in this jury rigged kit, he made a tee out of the solenoid head, and a kit from DW and Yoda would have cost 20.00ish more. Is peace of mind worth 20.00 ? Was last time I checked. So in an attempt to cleanse myself of this bad Mojo I trashed the Fastenal parts, gave the gun to a friend under the premise that he would buy a kit from DW and Yoda and washed my hands of this whole debacle. If there had been a warning like this out there for me to see I would have never had any part in it. The moral is all part's are not created equal. These guy's done a lot of homework to make there kit work and should be supported for making safe reliable products. DW contacted me several time's and was very helpful, but in the end I decided my foray into Mech Ion's was over and politely declined.

I hope this has been helpful, or in the least serve's as a warning not to skimp on high pressure part's. Save yourself and your Eye's/Nerve's/ friends eye's/ nerve's a lot of head ache and get the good stuff
Thanks
Honk

Here are a few Pic's. I want to post them up so if your looking on another site you will know not to touch a gun with these part's in them.
