GoG eNMEy - First Look

I got home from World Cup about an hour ago, and that time's been spent fully tearing down and taking pics of my new eNMEy. So I think I'm ready to offer some insight and details into it now.

GoG had a shooting booth set up next to their tent, and anyone could just walk in there and give it a shot. Short version...this thing shoots super sweet. It's very smooth, insanely quiet, and I had no idea that a trigger pull this short is even possible on a mech. Oh, and paired with a Spire, the black/white model looks pretty awesome.

The tech class was more of a focus group/overview of the gun than an actual tech class. Some of the key points:

- 190psi operating pressure
- standard bolt-out-back capabilities, and shares bolt compatibility with the Ion/eNVy/SP1
- there's a spring in the trigger frame that you can adjust to make your trigger as heavy/light as you like; remove it altogether for a 1-lb trigger pull
- the dump chamber seals when the bolt is forward; paired with the low operating pressure, efficiency should be very good
- 1,200+ shots on a 20-ounce CO2 tank
- they didn't specify an efficiency for HPA, but I got home and shot over a hopper off of a tank that had less than 700psi in it
- same low-force bolt as the eNVy; I fired it with my finger in the breech and it stopped the bolt without the slightest bit of pain...still not brave enough to try it with my tongue
- the body is milled for eyes, so if you upgrade to the Blackheart later (straight drop-in upgrade), it's all ready to go
- nice squishy and comfy soft wraparound grips
- LIFETIME WARRANTY

My opinion on it at this point is that it's very light and comfortable, has a shockingly short trigger pull, and shoots smoother/quieter than any other mech I've ever handled. With the compactness and comfort, along with the simple maintenance, this stands to be a big hit...and will be huge in rental fleets.

Now, I know most of you are here for the pics...so here they are:

Simple cross-bolt safety:

Frame opened up. Note the spring for weight adjustment. The frame is composite, so it has the threaded nuts for bottomline mounting.

Sure does look awful familiar...

The inner guts:

And, lastly, here's mine set up with a CP on/off and my Deadlwind Fibur barrel (best barrel EVER*)

Here's a short video showing how short the trigger pull is:

NOTE: Hans said release isn't expected for about another two months. Sorry, all you guys who expected your preorders to ship next week immediately after Cup.

CCM Fan
NICE.

I have a Proto Primo and CP one-piece on the way for this as my loaner setup. Though if it is as nice as it looks, I might be buying another one for me.

I was planning to put a Primo on it, but after shooting it, I think it needs at least a 9V Fasta. This will outshoot a Primo without even trying.

That return spring setup is straight up GENIUS in it's simplicity... I cannot freaking WAIT for this gun

Just curious Murf, but have you ever shot a mech Ion with an SMAV-3 trigger valve setup before? Would be interested to get your take on mech Ion vs. eNMEy if you have.

That thing looks pretty sick for $130.

I'm seriously considering this. I've been a HUGE fan of the Kaos series from Azodin when I suggest markers to new guys. I'm VERY curious to how this stacks up.

PistolRogue, sorry, but I haven't. I tried to convert my Ion, but the CP trigger I had in it wouldn't let the valve fit low enough into the frame for the hoses to fit. When I rigged it up just to check function, with the two halves of the body apart, I got it to work well enough that I feel confident in saying that they're very similar, but the eNMEy feels a bit...umm...quicker(?), I guess. It's hard to describe.
BUT, functionally, the 3-way here is different. It's a press-seal that just lifts up and down off the opening, instead of having a rod moving inside a body. They claim that that will prevent wear on the seal and, even bigger deal, there's only one seal in the whole thing. With one seal, and that seal not rubbing against anything, it should last pretty much forever. If it doesn't, though, it's double-sided; you can flip it over and keep going, rather than being dead in the water 'til you get a new one.

Kermit, I had a Kaos before this, and it doesn't even come close. As nice as the Kaos is as far as blowbacks go, blowbacks are still inferior to spoolies in a lot of ways. This is much smoother, much lighter, much more compact, much quieter, has a much shorter and lighter trigger pull...pretty much better in every way.

That is honestly not the way I pictured the trigger valve being oriented. Not that it matters.

First mod: Closing the gap between the trigger and trigger valve. Looks like something could be glued to the bottom the of trigger valve's button and life would be good.

It's entirely possible the gap is only there because the gun isn't aired up. The trigger valve on 'Mags will stay up until you air the gun up if you pull the trigger while there's no air applied to the gun.

ah no! Now you're making me think of getting one. Any word if these would every be released with a offset feed? That would be awesome. Or I should just finally learn to shoot cf. Done it before, but still. Seems easier on semis than over the barrel pumps. Hmm.

how is the build quality/ feel in the hands? Flimsy? solid? looking forward to your review after saturday.

what does it do when the bolt stops on a ball? Does it chuff and automatically reset itself? I can see have a reliable antichop bolt being a superb attribute for a rental fleet which are outfitted with shakenbakes.
