I got my Gog Enmey today and....

***UPDATE*** I took the back off and the bolt out and got the oring back on. The o-ring looked a little bit chewed up but once it was all back together there were no leaks and it cycles great. I can't wait to use it and this will probably be the base for a bunch of different custom mods.

I opened up the packaging and took it out and was looking it over and then got the feeling that this isn't quite how it's supposed to be out of the box.

It looks like I get the deluxe model with the super secret "o-ring mod" which makes it shoot faster. I'll just have to mess with it tonight and see where that is supposed to be and if it's damaged.

it goes in the large groove when you take the bolt out the back you will see what I'm talking about. Hopefully the oring isn't trashed.

Working a little too fast in those chinese factories.

Mine came with the top feedneck screw rattling around in the box, so i'm not surprised about that o-ring.

If it comes from Smarts Parts I've come to expect something like that out of the box.

The Flounder 03-26-2013 03:49 PM

That is the installed spare.

TinyBear 03-26-2013 03:59 PM

LOL. Smart parts quality control is alive and well hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Why are you guys buying smart parts anything?

PistolRogue 03-27-2013 02:18 AM

Sorry that yours wasn't put together correctly. It should be pretty obvious when you unscrew the back cap where the o-ring is supposed to go. If the o-ring is trashed, send an email to GOG with your pics and explain the situation. I'm sure they want to know when things like this happen so that they can address the situation, and they will get you replacement parts promptly.

Seriously? Surely people haven't STILL got their panties in a bunch about the whole SP thing? I think they paid their dues when karma came knocking and SP folded, don't you?

GoG are building a great product at a great price, I can't think of a single reason not to buy one.

Believe me, I know weird stuff can happen when products go out. :D I haven't messed with it yet but I'll check it today to see how it works and if there is a problem I'll contact them and I'm sure they will take care of it.

It was just one of those situations where I was happy to finally get one and then as I'm looking at it I noticed some greasy fingerprints on the body but that didn't bother me. Then as I continued looking I saw the oring and I heard the sound in my head like Wahhh wahhh wahhhhhhhh.

I do still love my shoebox Shocker S/F and Freak barrels and once I get this up and running I'll do my real review.
