Okay, now that we have all this "safety" stuff out of the way (bunch of wusses), I'll ask the important question:
How easy is it to replace the .22 with a high powered rifle round or a shotgun shell?

You would need a bigger grenade body.... and stopping thinking along those lines.

Baking soda and vinegar bombs eh? sounds like a fun weekend - how do i make these?

A few years ago i tried to make a bomb out of bleach and tin foil balls in a 2 liter, it didn't actually work though.

I still can make a mean smoke-bomb out of ping-pong balls and tin foil though

Curious, what is the actual timer / trigger on these?

Yeah those strange ordnance grenades were scary. Not to date myself too much but I remember them going off on the field. They were crazy loud!

The vinegar / baking soda thing has been done. It actually works.. sort of. Tippmann Ordnance made them a while back but I think they gave up. I did finally try one. Undid the clip, shook it up and it slowly puffed up to about 3x the size. I threw it around agressively for about 5 minutes and it finally popped. (the directions actually said "Wait 1-2 minutes) ..lol...The spray wasn't impressive at all and the paint consistency was watered down. The only mildly impressive thing was the pop. Pretty anti-climatic for $6. Here's a pic of one if you want to guess at the percentages they were using.

BTW ... good to see ya around blackrain... thought I'd drop in as I kind of miss the old plans forum and folks lately. I like your nade design. And I hate to admit but your paint recipe is better than mine.. *cry*

MaD,
You really need to bring back your site or post some of the "how to" here. This guy used to have a great site and lots of cool stuff. Please post them in the DIY section.
Later,
Blackrain

Heh... my site isn't gone but it has moved a few times and the content is a bit dated as I've been out of it for a while. A few of your ideas are still up there too.. it's now at Free Paintball Plans. I did a few updates recently. I have mixed feelings about publishing the content from the old plans forum. If you recall, it was private because of leeches and liability reasons... plus I don't have contact info on most of the people to see if they care.... most of all, I really hate the "Paintball Cookbook" and the fact that everything we shared publicly for the good of all ended up on Ebay... when my site always explicitly stated not to... So.. the good stuff stays in private as I'd rather have it gather dust than have it leeched and sold.

Ok, way OT... for that nade, you didn't say how this thing actually made a bang!! Baking soda? Gunpowder? Mechanical timer?

In the grenade arena, has anyone done an industry wide review of nades? Seems like more and more people are making them now. Back in the day it was like 1-2 and the rest of us just made them @ home... seems anymore, about 50 variations of the home versions are being produced and sold... lol

Well I book marked the site and stole back some of my drawings lol. Seems I lost alot of them in my moves. I was kind of close to the land mine in 2000. I see a few of my "How to" are a little popular lol. Thanks for dropping buy and don't leave again. Not really sure what makes the grenade go bang but I plan to disect the remains.

Thanks for the review, I'll be adding these to the "Banned" List at my field. Those look like a field owners nightmare or a lawyers wet dream.

Wow, as far as paintball goes, those things are as stupid as those Rap4 grenades I've seen. Not much splatter, it uses a blank 22 cartridge, it creates sharp debris, you need proper training to use them..... Yeah, theres no way legitimate commercial paintball facilities will adopt these grenades. I like those big yellow banana grenades the best

What paint grendades do you guys like the best?
