WTF Radius Stock Class Gauntlet Redesigned

A short while ago, Salty_Otter reviewed the WTF Gauntlet. Since then, Whiskey Two Four has made some changes which improve its usability as well as increase its capacity by up to 50%. I'm not going to re-invent the wheel and do a full review of the gauntlet. The original review can be found here and it still covers most of the highlights. Instead, I'll cover the changes from its original design.

First, you'll notice that the Gauntlet has loops on each side. The previous model has some elastic there but it wasn't enough to use for much more than a stick squeegee. Now you can store up to two more tubes or 12 gram cartridges than previously possible.

The loops up front have also been redesigned. Where they used to be loose fitting, They're now stitched onto a much sturdier backing. This prevents the 12 gram cartridges from flopping around like they used to.

The capless system has also seen some changes. Where tubes used to get hung up on the ridges inside of each sleeve, the ridges are gone and tubes now slide in much easier. I tried both smoke and clear tubes. Both went in with little effort.

Lastly, the shock cord is now laced through metal rings. This makes adjusting the laces much easier since they don't encounter as much friction when being adjusted.

Nice review update. I must have version 1.5 I have the loops on the side but the front loops for the 12ies are still pretty loose. No metal rings for shock cord on mine either.

Nice jersey as a backdrop there.

Thanks. I've been drooling over yours for a while now and I just had to have one of my own.

Nice! I had no idea that they had been redesigned. I use one everyday I play. The only thing more I'd want changed is the finger loops, though they aren't that big of a deal.

I only wear mine with gloves. I find it cuts into my fingers less that way.

You might be able to get away with elbow pads. I have about two inches from the back of the gauntlet to the inside of my elbow with my arm bent. Then again, I'm 6' 2" with Sasquatch arms and I don't wear elbow pads either. If you watched the video review in the previous thread, you'll see him struggling trying to put the gauntlet on over a glove. The newer design doesn't have this problem since the shock cord moves easier through the rings.

I agree with everything positive said above. I had no comfort issues at all. Really great piece of gear that felt awesome all day. Thanks Ryan for your hard work on this product.

Yup. Works just fine with my Empire grind elbow pads. They have the gloves attached too. If you want I'll take a picture of my arm when I go to play tomorrow.
