KPCS scout

Sorry for the picture link, but photobucket sucks the big one.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...3&id=690640542

So my adventure started a couple of years ago when Ken posted up that he was thinking of doing a new scout run. Fast forward to spe 2016, and I spent nearly an entire day standing at the KPCS booth chatting with Ken and drooling over one of the two unfinished scout bodies on his table. The fit and finish of the unfinished body was stellar. Loosely assembled and tested, it proved to be wonderfully smooth and pointed very naturally. The ability to remove the valve body/12 gram changer from the front is a fantastic idea, and well executed. The 12 gram pierce assembly is from cci and should be a breeze to source parts. The phantom one piece feed was included with the body I purchased. The simplicity of the body with its gorgeous smooth lines makes it a true piece of machining art.
After convincing Ken to let me take an unfinished body home (a considerable amount of work) I handed him money and proceeded to plan what I believed would end in the best build I could make.
After most of a year collecting parts, I settled on a collection of new and used bits, as I knew custom Anno was in order. I discussed the project with Skin-deep anodizing who happened to be reasonably local to me. I then stripped it down and sent it on its way to take a colourful bath. Ben did an outstanding job with the anno, and I think the whole build turned out great.

Pros:
Amazingly smooth dual pump rod system.
Beautifully machined body with matching back block.
Genius 12 gram/valve body design, removable with one screw.
Easily sourced 12 gram seals.
Compatible with CCI feed tubes.
Devolumized custom bolt.

Cons:
I'm not good at tuning 12 gram powered guns yet.
The 12 gram plug is a bit tough to twist with the barrel on. With use and a new o ring I may be able to remedy that.

My scout does not have detent milling, and that's the way I wanted it. By underboring with the Stella kit, I rarely get double feeds. That being said, friends who have tested it out have been getting double feeds. This is totally understandable for a marker with absolutely no detent as I desired. Call me crazy, I'd take a few double feeds over ruining the beautifully clean lines of this killer marker.

Parts list:
KPCS scout body, back block, dual rod pump kit, bolt, and 12 gram/valve body.
CCI one piece aluminum feed tube.
Bob long humpback slider.
Aka trigger plate and sear.
Palmer's high pressure LT valve.
Madmann trigger and hammer springs.
Shocktech brass hammer.
Inception designs Stella barrel kit.
It also has a match annoed in your face stock courtesy of Maggot. (thanks bud!)

I don't know if Ken has any more scouts left in the current run, but it's more than worth asking him. This scout will be worth me for a long long time.
Pat.

Tell me why I had to be a powerslave.

The barrel will have a hard time preventing double feeds, the timing of your pump stroke does.

It's cool that it doesn't have a detent.

Awesome gun A+++ maximum

Thanks for the compliments gents. Sorry Matt, this one will likely be staying with me for a long while. Also Chuna, I realize that the barrel doesn't help with double feeds. Pump timing is crucial, but the underbore barrel certainly helps prevent triple feeding and more.

I believe an underbored barrel where a ball has to be pushed in by the kit can prevent double feeds...

There's too much room in the breech before barrel begins. Like..it can hold about two balls

Possibly it will depend on how much bevel there is on a particular barrel.

I don't even own a gun with cocker threads right now so I'm just going on old memory.
