It took me a min to see what it did. I was looking at the pic of the spyder and didn't see it in the tip of the barrel holding it on the wall. looks kinda cool.

Great review. It really helps that you did the weight test.

Thanks Gringo. I think it will hold the vast majority of the markers out there.

The old way I did it certainly worked - this just looks so danged clean.

Those things look awesome. Only thing I can think of is that the test piece of pegboard would be stronger than a normal large piece since there wouldnt be mounting screws all around the CCM gun mount.

The idea of letting my barrel function as a lever is a bit cringe-inducing - are you sure there won't be any ill effects?

How strong is it bolted to the pegboard. I can see how strong it would be pushing straight down. But it seems the weak point for this system would be the inserts. If you accidentaly pull out(away from the pegboard) when removing a gun or if someone walking by gets thier shirt caught. Will it make the mount wobbly?

Can they be ordered 90deg out? A row of hurcs pointing AT the wall at various heights sounds like fun.

Okay - I have had my Spyder mounted for a week like this. The Delrin does not cause any damage and the barrel certainly isn't worse for the wear. You have to remember - your Snipers Grip Frames are held on with about 1/8th of threads. Those rarely rip out - and you have to REALLY try. A barrel is quite thick and a tube is a very strong structure - I forsee few ill effects.

As far as trying to rip it out perpendicular. a) I tested this too - the peg board will rip out - but you have to put quite a bit of pressure on it. I thought...B) any mount I have on the wall would have ripped the pegboard had I done this. The normal slide ons are not meant to be taken out in this fashion.

I know it seems weird - but sometimes you have to think out of the box.

Bill has sold over 2,000 of these (for firearms) and has yet to hear a report that one caused damage or failed.

I am not a fanboy - but they are neat little devices.

Good to know. I don't doubt the stability of it, but visually it was enough to make me wince and ask.
