I'm more than a little bit surprised that the pump rod was not long enough to cock the marker. Are you positive this was not a tuning issue? In my experience, the cocking rod does not need to be threaded all the way into the pump handle or cocking block. There is some range or adjustability there. I installed a WWA economy kit on a pre-2000 PTP Sleeper without any such issues last year (or maybe it was two years ago, WWA was the only choice other than CCM at the time). Your notes on polishing and general fit and finish agree with what I saw on the economy kit otherwise. Not perfection, but a decent kit for the money.

I have experienced pretty much the same with the WWA kits I have purchased. Solid kits that could use a little more polish. I was able to smooth out the pump action on one kit by actually lightly sanding the GUIDE, enough to smooth out the anno but not enough to break through it.

The windows on the secondary guide affect nothing in my experience. Both of my kits were mini kits -- the only available mini kit at this time -- and the pump arm was the right length.

Cleaning can be a bitch, esp on the older ultra kits, which aren't to my knowledge made anymore. Those had aluminum handles and deeper grooves. I think he made the grooves shallower in the delrin handles to remedy this.

It may be worth noting that the smaller handle is one of the smaller handles overall out there. Also the newer kits have cross-drilled holes intended to be used for tightening via an inserted crossbar. This can be an issue in some applications.

Wild - Yes I COULD take 1/2 of both of the threads out of the pump and the back block - but that lead to twisting and less security than I wanted. The threads were so small and sharp that it worried me to not have them all. I just don't understand why pump makes don't simply make their rods 1/2 inch longer.
