noxx55 springfeed (10" model)

So, upon seeing how near IMPOSSIBLE it was to get the BE pocket hopper or the sportshot hopper to feed my PPS Pyre, my first day with the marker was mostly spent with her running a 200rnd Rico Apache. Needless to say....too much weight up too high. I wanted to run a limited paint setup, but still maintain constant feeding.

That's when I came across noxx's website and his springfeeds. This appeared to be the ideal solution. One would fit nicely on my pyre's feedneck, and sit low and be perfect for being reloaded by 10rnd tubes. So, I ordered one.

My order came in the mail last week fairly promptly (after the estimated 7-10 business days had passed since I had sent my $$). For a custom order, this was lightning fast, and I was pleased.

The feed is very durable in construction, though the locking screw WILL mark up your neck if you use it instead of using the spring feed with a clamping feedneck (some necks won't clamp tight enough to really do a good job of holding the feedneck on the springfeed in place). But, it was no big deal. The feed stayed in place securely, and the leashed feedplug was quick to remove and then put back in place.

So, it went on my Pyre to the field this past saturday.

Feeding was great. The spring kept balls coming into the breech, but not so fast that the pyre would accidentally double feed (a problem I had been having somewhat with my apache). It balanced out the Pyre almost perfectly when running a 48/45 stubby HPA tank (VERY light tank) on an on/off rail-asa assembly.

Then, towards end of my day playing, the worst happened. The spring in the feed snafu'd ROYALLY. It collapsed in on itself when I brought back the guide to reload paint. It would not come undone, and the spring was ruined.

However, this is not the end of the tale. Noxx replaced the spring for FREE. It came today (very promptly), and I'll be replacing it soon (as soon as I get up off my lazy rear to bring in my gear from the car).

Overall, I'm very pleased with this nice $40 purchase. It works well, is well constructed, and noxx supports his work.

I'll have pics in a few days. For now, good pics of Noxx's springfeeds are up on the springfeed page on his site, here.

My overall rating: 4.5/5 (I take off half a point for the spring snafu and because no product is absolutely perfect). Definitely worth your money if you have a DF pump or semi you want to run a springfeed off of, and not want to pay an arm and a leg to have PPS build you a custom one-off springfeed. I know I'm very pleased. noxx will be getting my business again in the future for sure.
