It is something like that it's not painted or air brushed it's a graphic sticker of some kind or a shrink wrap or something along those lines. The way I understand it you can get them painted but having them air brush it is pretty expensive

Yeah, it's some type of photo impression into the plastic. The mask has a unique fit and feel to it.

A team mate of mine is first in line for the custom airbrushed masks. When his arrives I will get some photos. Should be a couple weeks still though.

Am I the only one who thinks wearing those goggles makes it look like someone photoshopped your face?

I think I'll stick with my trusty Proflex.

How are they on the fit and jaw line compared to a profiler.

Think JT Proteus in terms of coverage. The edge of the mask traces the edge of your chin and jawline.

The local shop got a bunch of them and replaced all their rental masks with them. I didn't try one on yet but here's my impressions from talking to owners and observing them in use:

1. They look really, really nice. The graphics on all the models I saw were perfect, sharp and bright. The skull is much better looking in person. Even the rental masks have nice tribal designs and "RENTAL" on them.

2. The whole mask really hugs the face especially the forehead. The guy I spoke to the most said it was pretty hot with little air flow compared to his JT Flex. He was a pretty big fella with a full face and head so on a smaller person it may not be so bad. It was about 60 today so when it really gets warm it might be a problem.

3. There was a big group of renters and just about everybody was fogging pretty badly all day.

4. There were a few complaints of rental masks' foam seperating and I saw a couple with foam pieces flapping around in the lens area. I think this is the second week they've used them so they are not old. Certainly rental masks don't get the care an owner would give theirs so this may not be a concern for an individual owner.

Overall, I think the cosmetics and style are fantastic but I'm on the fence about the comfort, anti-fog capabilities and durability of the mask. I'll try one on at the local shop when I have some time and maybe rent one to get a better impression of them.

This is what I was worried about. I don't see a plastic coated foam block breathing well in heat. I get the feeling that your face would sweat all over the mask and just feel gross, like a hockey shin pad against your leg.

I'll stick with my scotts and my old Flex 7's
