Dremel Customer Service

This review is nothing formal, just a story of my experience.

I purchased a Dremel Stylus from Dremel in the summer of 2007 and it worked flawlessly until a few months back (around 3 months). The issue was the charger and nothing else. I was sure of it (did multiple testings). While tossing emails back and forth with Dremel, they told me to send it in and they will inspect it and fix the issue. I informed them that I did not have my receipt, but they said it was not a issue. I sent it in along with a note with issue, address, email, and date of purchase. A week later a package comes in from Dremel and like a kid in Christmas I ripped it open. They replaced my dremel with a brand new one and also a brand new charger. Along with it was a free attachment, manuals, and a letter with a personal signature (it was hand signed) with an apology. Overall a great customer service.

Great to hear! I love my Dremel Stylus. I thought long and hard about getting it since my other dremel was still in good condition, but it was worth it. Great tool for the tinkerer.

Was that sarcasm or do they have a bad reputation?

I think he meant "unheard of" in a positive way. That's good old fashioned quality customer service, not the "outsourced to India, don't speak English, please hold for 4 hours, tough sh*t for you our crap-made product broke" customer service so many companies are guilty of these days. I love my Dremel, and am glad the company still stands behind it's product.

Remember when gas stations used to be called "service stations?" (sorry, some of our younger members may not) They pumped your gas, washed your windshield, and checked your oil all at no extra charge? I had that experience the other day, and it blew my mind...that hasn't happened in years!

Exactly. There are a number of companies I have a personal Boycott on because of their screw you, there is a million other buyers out there mentality.

That exact same thing happened to me a little over a year ago. My dremel one day just stopped working. Just up and stopped. I figured just a dead battery, so I put it on the charger, but it still would not go. So I called up dremel and I sent mine in and they sent me a brand new one with another attachment and an apology note. I am not sure if it was hand signed or not, can't remember, but they have consistently good customer service apparently.

When I meant hand sign I mean literally hand sign. It was type but had a personal signature. Im sure they just print a bunch and have the person sign all of them at one time but the thought of it made me feel good.
