| I agree with everything Tal said. This is supposed to be a review thread so please post your experiences but let's not start attacking the Producers or each other. I'm thinking the "Red advantage" was a mistype, either supposed to be a Green/Blue advantage, or a Red disadvantage. |

| Lol, this is long, but bear with it, I think its good. My name is Alex Nimmo, I can guarantee that none of you know who I am, I've been on Shadow Company for the better part of 6 years now.. And I participated in Red Mars in Agate.. and I had a blast. However I can see why Cpt. Godzilla isnt the Happiest Camper in the forest. But in all honesty, I'm sorry.. what do you expect. I have never heard of the intimidators.... which is why i dont read much into rumors.. The bunker placement was done by Red team.. Im sorry that they didnt have the foresight to set the field up evenly enough for even their own team. I am however somewhat dissapointed with the uneveness of teams, although alot of that might of had to do with the amount of people that showed. but that is how life goes, and there is nothing to do about it now except make sure it doesnt happen again. I didnt see a dead cow..Or cactus for that matter but of course I was in the middle of the field... playing paintball... where the action should have been. However I did see a cow pie... wow... cow crap in a cow pasture is personally a revulutionary Idea to me... I mean if it really was a cow pasture all other days of the year...i dunno if it is...ill get back to you when I make sure since it hasnt been stated a hundred times..... be a man its only crap.. mostly dried up crap. and as far as the cactus.. if you are so worried about cactus in colorado.. dont playpaintball outdoors. I still have cacti with me from 3 weeks ago, all you need to do is watch where u kneel. The dead cow, was not fledgling scenarios fault, that is a matter for the farmer to take care of You also stated. "The game was pointless; it was overly complex but ended up terribly simplified with an every men for himself situation" Personally I worked as a team with people I had never met, And i know Shadow Company and Black light worked well as a team (as always) I saw, for the most part, no individualism on the green side and when I did, it was amazing efforts and changed the game.... which is one of the reasons to our success. And I'm sorry, to rag on your general like that is just un professional, and is something that losses respect in my book. From what I saw Mother is a capable General, and more than a capable scenario player. Not many women play paintball as it is and for a woman to be, well legendary is something else.. I have tremendous respect for her and can not wait for a chance to fight beside her. You also stated that: "the game play was awful; because it was blue pushing forward and then red pushing blue back and wash, rinse, repeat. There were no objectives, for instance in a game like "hold the fort" I loved the fighting for position you just stated.. thats some of the funnest game play there is, and it was, more times than not, over an objective. Which by the way i saw a diverse amount of... From capture and hold the land bridge to take a picture of the cofee shop ( which I was unable to do, great job in holding that red team) "The reason for a game like that is to draw both teams in full force to a single point" I'm not sure what you meant by this... if this is what scenario games are supposed to be, or if this is what fledgling was trying to do.... But my personal opinion of it is that two full forces at a single point is a massively epic, but very paint ineffeciant battle... Which is why its the final battle, which was amazing by the way... You thought there would be fireworks.... did you not see the wicked awsome fireball that nearly made me S*#t myself? There could have been more flares, but I understand there where complications with the fire department there.... which I was unaware that there was one within 75 miles of Agate. Im sorry but if you think that Night games are a waste of paint.... dont play in them. I used less that 150 rounds, shot 10 people and had one of the funnest night games of my life. And I did see the glow sticks.. they where red... and the yellow caution tape... you stated: "There is a reason why that field is no longer used for paintball and its because it is too filthy and dangerous and it failed." Do you know this for sure?, are there facts? how are you to know that the farmer, didnt buy it from the paintball company, and it ceased to be a paintball field? Most fields are filthy as they consist of dirt, dust, and pretty goopy paint.... Which brings me to another point, I thanked the farmer for allowing us to use his land... did anyone else? as far as the camping situation..... it was camping... there was no Hilton or Holiday Inn with bathrooms and showers, is that what you expected?... I think thats part of the Glory of it... I was able to pack for the most part, the exact same stuff I packed when I went backpacking and capmed at the top of storm mountain the two prior weekends to Red Mars. Guess what I brought with me... Hand sanitizer... Its something i like to do, prepare. You know whatelse I brought? food. and I really had no Idea that you had to buy water because I was prepared and packed enough water to suffice whatever thirst arose. I do agree with you though Godzilla that there should be seperate areas for parking and camping, but under the circumstances, that may not have been an option, we dont know for sure. The idea of a lights out is a decent Idea..... but frankly wont happen. A suggestion I have is to possibly bring ear plugs or head phones. Showers.. seriously? Soldiers in viet nam may have had showers, but they where there for months... not a fun filled weekend of paintball. While I was at Basic Training in FT Sill Oklahoma, Showers where not provided for field excersises, and we would be out there for a week. once again, something you have to just suck up and deal with.Or you could bring your own shower, Badger from Shadow Company did it. I also agree that it was a drag that they couldnt fill above2500 psi, and that we couldnt bring our own compressors , but im not 100% sure but that may have to do with insurance. I also believe that the booster was broke and thats why fills were only to 2500, so thats a mechanical failure... but at least you could fill up to the 2500 as many times as you pleased, I know I did. IT did say on the site very clearly, 250.00 for a 5 man team,. for pre- registration only. so a sugestion, is to sign up five people on your team at a time. So I have agreed and disagreed, But for the problems, I have provided solutions.... But the one problem I cannot tolerate, is what was said at the end... "I will not go back to any of their games and I would suggest that no one else does either, they are just a bunch of hayseeds who have no idea what they are doing. RED MARS is a rip off and if you want a good scenerio game look for ones at the AIR FORCE ACADEMY or somewhere else but DO NOT GO TO ANY FLEDGLING SCENARIOS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PLAYERS OR THEIR SAFETY AND THEY ONLY SEEK TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK! Fledgling could be the death of good gaming because so many people will never try a scenario again because of this first experience!" It doesnt matter if you had a bad time..... This statement was messed up. What other Fledgling Games have you been to? and who are these so many people that will never play another game again? I do however believe you are entitled to your professional opinion... As am I and here it is: It was a good weekend of paintball, people got along for the most part and sportsmanship was good, and i saw alot of people having fun, which is what paintball should be about. Win or lose.. I have been on the losing side of the game many times, and was still abl;e to have fun. I got to see and play with many teams i had never haf the privilage of playing with before, such as the badger battalion, dead muppets, and its been maybe three years since i played with 10th mountain, and I loved the opportunity. Jim did the best he could given the situation, and I dont think he did half bad, alot of the problems were uncontrollable and due to an amazing amount of people showing up, which is awsome. It shows how scenario paintball is growing in colorado, and win or lose we should be happy about. Last edited by NimmoSC; 05-21-2008 at 10:54 PM. |

| Resident Marker Monger | I agree with Nimmo as well. I was there and I played on the blue team. I admit the sides favored blue. There were times that red was downright aggressive in their push.(had us on our heels many times) However the red team might have accomplished more had it actually been there for the entire game. Whenever I went to reload on paint. There were countless reds back in the camping area. Not reloading, relaxing. I know a lot of the players on red, and attendance was their biggest set back. I've played alongside of Blacklight Company, and Shadow Company before in local games. One thing I can attest to is their dedication to playing quality paintball. All the blue team seemed to be playing this way that weekend. I case anyone wonders who I was. I was the guy wearing the pink hawiian shirt, and despite that, only came away with one welt for the whole weekend.WOOT!!! I had a blast that weekend. Camping is camping, bring what you need to get by. The game is what you make it. And what Carbide said. The field will be much better in the fall. I"M GOING!!! Oh and on a side note. the 2 cases I shot were extremely small. I used a .681 barrel most of the time. Quality was great though, only broke 6 or 7 balls out of 4500. I'm sure that was because of double feeding. That's my 2 cents if anybody cares ![]()

| I have 40 acres, I can get sponsors and I have a direct connection to the promoters of events like territory days, spring spree and the balloon classic. So you can count on a clean field, plenty of port-o-jons, real vendors and serious food. Im working out the details on bunker design and field layout but rest assured it will be even, playable and fun. I dont know what you do for a living but I own my business and I pull in 1.5 million a year... money talks and bull**** walks, see you there. |

| I do NOT exist! | No offense intended Capt. Godzilla but what you make in a year and what you have access to has no bearing on this game. When and if you set up an event and wish to put up information about it you are more then welcome to do so by starting your own thread and advertising it that way or through the site. Until then however please keep this thread to the specifics of the Red Mars game and your experience there. On the compressor issue I talked with Hangernaid and Psycho and that was Insurance related. Same with Scuba Tanks and player owned Bulk Co2 fills. Which is understandable seeing as I have yet to go to a Scenario game where the insurance allowed off site fills.

| i thought the generator they were using to power the compressor was overheating, but I might have heard wrong. I wasn't as interested in HPA once Tal lent me his KP

| I do NOT exist! | Yes they had an issue with their booster. In fact the guy running the 4500 fills suffered an injury. The line blew off and whipped up slashing him just above the eye causing him to receive a huge goose egg and some stitches. Near as I could ascertain he didn't receive a concussion nor fracture however. Unfortunately it blew out a part and he was the only one familiar with that particular system so until he was back up and on his feet later into the event when they received a replacement part they where unable to do larger fills. Granted the only thing I am 100% sure of in the above statement is the fact that the guy was injured and had to have stitches because he is the only one involved with the fills directly that I talked to about it. I used Co2 the first day and when I needed HPA the second day I received a full 3K fill and my teammate received a full 4500 fill.

| The first day was when they had problems. I was getting about 4k all day Sunday, but Saturday highest I got was the beginning of the game and I got 3500. Also, most of the reason the HPA was so screwed up was because they didn't expect that many people to show up, which is definitely a good thing! And for CO2, I've never gotten good fills at Agate. At LLA I had a 20oz and it ran out about every 700 shots. Not good stuff. Oh and Captain Godzilla, you go ahead and put on your own scenario. And know that I'll be there, and I will be watching you for any and all mistakes, and I'll send YOU an email after detailing what you did wrong. Sound mean? Well, it sure as heck seems like thats what you did at the Fledgling scenario. So I'll be waiting...I'm getting pretty sick of hearing about this awesome game too, so make it quick. |
